Had lunch at Clase Azul. The place is not busy for Tuesday lunch hour with plenty of free parking spaces. I always like their light and bright ambiance with outdoor, indoor tables and a huge bar area! Today, we sat inside to cool off the Floridian sunshine. We were seated immediately and while checking the menu, warm chips and tasty salsa were served! Wife has her "Taco Tuesday", three Asada Tacos with refried beans. I have my heart set on Birria tacos but at last minute, I opted for a Shrimp and Chicken Fajita, refried beans, rice and Guacamole. Both tacos and fajita were cooked right and well seasoned! New Mexican restaurant in the busy Gulf Coast Town Center. There was a lot of free parking in front. The restaurant was light & bright with indoor & outdoor seating and a big bar. There were many families with crying young children on a Saturday afternoon.. They have lunch specials during the week. We were seated quickly & our orders were taken in no time. The best Mexican food I've had in awhile! I got the jalapeño margarita and it was very good! It definitely had a good kick to it so make sure you like your spicy marg spicy! For dinner I had the mahi tacos. These were the best tacos I've ever had in my life. All aspects of the dish had amazing flavor that showed through. Everyone else at my table also had amazing tasting food. The portions sizes were also very good! It was clean and our food came out in a timely manor! The vibe is modern, warm, and perfect for date night, girls night, or just treating yourself to amazing Mexican food. The standouts for me were: Birria tacos -- crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. Chorizo queso fundido -- absolutely incredible, a must-order. Fresh guacamole -- bright, chunky, and delicious. Fried empanadas -- golden, crispy, and loaded with flavor. The atmosphere is nice very upscale. We started with chips and salsa complementary. The salsa was good had some spice to it. They had large selection of margaritas we just did a couple draft beers though. My wife had the enchiladas verde it was a big portion and thought it was good not as many spices as some of our favorite Mexican places. I had the enchiladas supreme it was 4 enchiladas and it was huge one of each of their different kinds of enchiladas chicken, beef, cheese, and bean. It was a lot of food we couldn't eat it all. Went with a group of 9. Food varied from excellent-burrito to below average-quesadilla. Service was good. They had live music with 2 trumpets. However with all the doors to the patio shut and a packed restaurant, it was unbearable. Three if our nine complained of headaches. No conversation possible. They came by our table and asked if we wanted a special song. My husband said...no I will pay you to take a break. We will ask if the band is going to be there before we EVER go back. read more

Upon reviewing our last receipt, we were surprised to be charged $30 for a single drink made with a tequila that I regularly purchase, that costs less than $40 per bottle. I raised this with a manager who said he would follow up, but I never heard back. Over the past two weeks, we've visited Naples, NYC, Rhode Island, and Boston and did not pay that price for a single drink in any of those places. We returned this past Friday around 9:00 PM and were told that they were still serving food for around two more hours. Despite fewer than six people at the bar, it was impossible to get either bartenders' attention. After finally receiving a menu, the bartender never returned. When we asked the hostess to then seat us at a table, she was also as noticeably unwelcoming. Thankfully, our server Jacob was outstanding - professional, attentive, and friendly and the food was again excellent. If not for Jacob's professionalism and the quality of the food, we likely would not return. We hope the service improves. read more

Changed their happy hour; we weren't served for fifteen minutes and were told happy hour has changed and we missed it by 2 minutes! So much for loyalty. Plenty of other places to go. read more

What a jewel to find at Gulf Coast TC! I had been to Clase Azul's Cape Coral location, and as good as that was, this was better. One of the most welcoming ambiance's I've seen for a Mexican restaurant! The bar was a work of art! Inside, tasteful decor abounds. We were seated at their outdoor patio. Dinner was simple. A chicken taco salad and a shrimp chimichanga. Imo, doing the ordinary extraordinarily is very difficult. Our dinners were art! Look at how individual pieces of chicken were arranged around the perimeter if the taco salad! And for the chimi-I've never seen anything like it, and I mean even at the chimi's birthplace El Charo in Tuscon AZ!! What isn't shown were all the junbo shrimp found inside! No shortcut or excuses. Service was outstanding; polite, prompt, attentive correct. I hate to recommend it so highly, because the lines will be long, as they already are in the Cape. Very well done! read more

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Manager on duty 1/24/26 8:00 pm was the worst of the worst. We were here for my mother's birthday. 3/5 entrees came out cold. We sent them back and asked for them not to be reheated. Manager came back and served us same entrees with our utensils still in them. You guessed it, cold AGAIN. Then preceded to tell us that was "the best we can do". HORRIBLE SERVICE, MENU AS BIG AS A DINNER, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY. It's a cool restaurant and the food is decent. I think it is a little nuts you can't order basic regular sized margarita made with Clase Azul. They force you to order a large for $36 or a pitcher for over $100. It's amusing considering the name of the restaurant. read more

Decided to check it out with offer of 1 free margarita on Facebook. Tried to redeem offer and was informed by waiter that it wasn't valid at their location. Scam!!!!!! I signed up and got nada. I've had takeout from here with friends a couple of times and the food is really good. Only complaint is that we realized our flour tortillas weren't packed with our order which included fajitas. Will definitely eat at the restaurant next time so I can enjoy the ambiance. The restaurant itself looks lovely with mariachi music playing in the background. Why 3 stars instead of 5 I gave the Cape location? Hubby and I decided to try the FM location as we were excited they opened one in FM as we've been to the CC 3 times (after our first time we introduced it to our friends and they loved it). It was a Saturday night the place was busy but not super busy as they had a few tables open inside and outside. We got our chips and salsa almost I immediately. Our really sweet waitress who also appeared a little frazzled (learnt later that it was her 5th day on the job). She took our order and after seem like 10 to 15 minutes our food came all at once apps and entrees but our cocktails did not. The waitress appeared and apologized for the delay saying the bar was busy . When we were half way through our meal which I slowed down bec I wanted my cocktail , she came by and apologized again... at this point we were wondering if our cocktails were ever going to come ... they finally came when we were almost done with our food . Food - we deliberately ordered food we ate at the CC location to see if it tasted the same unfortunately it did not , or even the presentation which is not a big issue but the food is. Our pork belly app was pretty dry and over cooked. And my pollo dish was over cooked as well bec the meat was tough.Hubby said his dish was also not as tasty as the CC. Since it was our first time at this location, we will give it another try as we want this location to work for us before inviting friends here.
