    A & A Basement Waterproofing

We can't say enough about our positive experience with A and A Basement Waterproofing. Alan was the…read moremost responsive contractor we have ever dealt with. He was always a great communicator throughout both our entire basement waterproofing project, and the installation of outdoor drainage piping. He provided quality work with his team. Alan was always there precisely as scheduled and always answered his phone if we had any questions or concerns. Our only regret is not calling him sooner! He has set the bar high for his knowledge, quality workmanship, value and communication.

A & A Basement Rocks! I met with several of the well known…read morebasement waterproofing companies in the area and the experiences were horrible. The first salesperson came from a company located in the Danbury Area. He came an hour early and banged on my front door. Not expecting him so early I came to the door and he said, "'I'm here." He didn't say his name or properly introduce the name of the organization he represented. He spent the entire time bragging about his stock portfolio and how much money he and his wife had. I finally had to redirect him to discuss our project and he knew nothing about engineering the project for a solution. He even wanted to put the waste drain 10 feet behind the house. Either side of the house would have been ideal for they already had landscaping beds full of drainage rocks. The office person then persuaded me to meet with the owner and when the owner came out, he really wasn't apologetic for the way that the salesperson treated me. He said that you guys didn't care for each other. I questioned where the waste pipe should be placed and he said "Where do you want it?" He then gave me a quote which was the lowest of all 4 contractors I received. However, He tried to take took a shortcut beacause he was the only contractor who didn't want to built a drain trench on the internal wall even though there clearly was water build-up against the wall. The next gentlement was located in the Hartford area and he was extremely rude and cocky. When I explained about what I learned from another contarctor and he said "Go with them I don't care." I asked for a price quote with a scope of work and the job would've been $2,500.00 more than I ended-up paying. He had a take it or leave it attitude and overall it was a bad experience. I then met with a gentleman who owned a company in the Newtown-Monroe Area. He owned the company but the technical level of the sales presentation was aimed at someone taking a doctorate class in geology or structural engineering. The worst part was his price. It was at least $8,000 higher than what i ended up paying with A&A. I met with the owner Alan in mid August and it was a smooth experience right from the start. Alan was on time for our appointment, asked lots of questions about our goals and provided a solution in simple, layman terms. Alan was polite, compassionate to our situation and didn't make the presentation about himself. He quoted me a price that was more than fair, promised to use high-quality materials and finish the job in 4-5 days. Alan sent the contract over that night and I signed it immediately. What I really appreciated was the fact that A & A Basement Waterproofing was the only contractor who didn't ask for a downpayment. He promised to do all of the work and that he didn't expect payment until I was completely satisfied with the work. A & A Basements started the work on Monday September 20th. The workers were on schedule each morning. They were very friendly, professional and did quality work. At the end of each day I took a quick look at the progression of the project and all steps that were promised by Alan were done. On Friday 9/24 at 3:30 PM, Alan asked me to inspect the job and to make sure I was competely satsified. Everthing was completed as promised. The sump pump was tested and worked great. The newly-poured concrete was clean and even. The guys did an excellent job of cleaning-up the entire job site. Anyone who has a faulty system or needs to waterproof their basement should not waste their time with the so-called experts in Connecticut. Avoid the high-pressure sales organizations, individuals who insult you, or really don't know what they are doing. Call Alan at A&A right away. Ron J.
