St Timothy's Catholic Church - Father Roger praying over prayer groups.

I was born a catholic but when I started coming here my eyes were opened and learned there's sooooo…read moremuch more to being a catholic than just going to church every Sunday and being nice to others. Father Roger, Father Darren and Father Ken has taught my family so much over the past 5 years. I went from being bored at mass and avoiding confession to loving going to mass each day, learning to pray and being much much more compassionate and understanding to those around me. Thank you St. Timothy for converting me. This church is such a down to earth supportive community that encourages us to explore our spirituality and faith and ultimately learn more about ourselves and our purpose here on earth. Father Roger from the Companions of the Cross is really a living saint, preaching like the saints of old, living and setting an example for all of us. You must come on the third friday of each month for healing sessions after the 7pm mass to get a taste of the spirit of this church. They also have many retreats, information and learning sessions and prayer events for you to participate in, throughout the week and months of the year. There is a "That Man is You" program for the men explore their faith and to support and live a good catholic life in the family. There is mass almost twice a day and 5 pm youth mass every sunday. One of the best thing about this church is that they place the Blessed Sacrament in the middle of the altar and the priests sit on the side, a perfect example of how they prioritize their focus and adoration towards God. They also have beautiful life size statues of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Joseph and St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. there are long line ups for confession every week, from 7 years old to 99 years old. You must come by to mass a few times and see yourself.

Cathedral of The Transfiguration - The cathedral at sunset

I have known about the Cathedral of the Transfiguration for at least a decade. I was in the…read moreneighbourhood and the three towers that comprise this cathedral stood out from Woodbine Avenue. I had to take a look. The area is known as Cathedraltown because, well, there's a large cathedral. I never have set foot in it. Originally built as a Catholic cathedral, it was closed from the mid-2000's onwards. There was some issue with getting a public occupancy permit. I still think that it remains closed for worship. Last night, I was fetching food from Cafe Mozaiko, which is on the same street. You get a beautiful look at this cathedral at the end of the street from any business on this stretch. There were plenty of cars parked in front of this cathedral after I had fetched my takeout. I frankly don't think that they were worshipers. Many folks with fancy sports cars like to gather around it. I'm not sure whether it's a nice hangout for folks to chat about cars and admire rims, or if they are praying that their insurance rates don't go up astronomically. It isn't an area where you can do some illegal street racing, unless Woodbine Avenue is considered the chosen course. It is bendy, but I have never seen any crazy racing on it whenever I'm on it. It's too residential for such a setup. They cathedral is beautiful to admire from afar. However, how often it's maintained remains a mystery. It may be slowly deteriorating externally. I didn't hear any bells ringing from it. It's sad to see such a beautiful cathedral sitting there and not being used for its intended original purpose. (41)

The building looks absolutely great from far. However, it seems to lack the maintenance and upkeep…read more Maybe the original contacting work was very bad. If you get a chance to go visit, you will notice the exterior steps are badly damaged, marble stone floors are all cracked and chipped badly. Weed growing in between steps and and cracks... Walking up closely, you would think it is an abandoned Cathedral.

All Nations Full Gospel Church

All Nations Full Gospel Church

This church should not be called "Full Gospel" nor should it be called "All Nations" as it is not…read morediverse as the body of Christ should be and does not adhere to the full gospel of Christ. It is a prosperity gospel church so you'll hear a lot of messages that are more like motivational speaking that aims to stroke your ego and make you feel better about yourself. Having attended this church, I never heard a sermon on sin, repentance or sacrifice instead, there's a disproportionate amount of sermons on health and wealth. I recall a weekly convention held there where the guest speak spoke only of all the possessions he had accumulated, and he's a reflection of the leadership that invites him yearly. Just check out their mission and vision on their website to see 1/4 of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Almost everyone in the church will tell you that they want to be a millionaire and will gauge spiritual health by physical possessions. This organization has a reputation of being more of a business than a church and from the inside, I can tell you this is true. It's a family run and operated franchise where people become pastors by marriage If you're looking for a church, please review it's doctrinal statements on their website or call to find out. Ask them what The Gospel is and if nothing is mentioned of sin, repentance, and communion with God through the Grace of His son Jesus Christ...run and never look back!!
