I wanted Korean for dinner and CJ Lunch Bar had some good ratings. Funny enough, I'd walked by it the night before and made a mental note to check it out as it was packed inside.
We dropped in on Wednesday (around 6:00pm) for dinner. The place wasn't too busy yet but there were quite a few people eating. You have to go up and order at the counter when you're ready. Water and napkins is self serve by the counter.
The menu is split into bento specials, entrees, light meal, main meal, mains and hot pot. Everyone, and I'm not exaggerating, ordered a cheese chicken bulgogi (#35). Comes out sizzling. We would have got one if my dad wasn't allergic.
- Sweet potato noodle don (D10) ($7.90 AUD) - rice, japchae, salad, one slice of orange and one mini fried mandoo. Japchae was pretty tasty with a good bite and plenty of beef bulgogi slices. I don't think you can beat the price. So cheap!
- Spicy seafood bento (B8) ($10.00 AUD) - rice, kimchi, salad and a generous portion of squid. Squid had a pleasant texture and the sauce was addictively good with the rice. There was a little undertone of heat but I think you need to ask if you want it spicy.
Solid, solid spot. Extremely good prices, generous portions and tasty food to match. I'd come back. read more
