When you want to start to explore the interior of Boracay this is the main route to take to start, You can walk to take a tricycle, cart, or car to other beaches, shops, resturant, budget hotels and the seaports or go up to the hills.

It is a huge plaza centrally located at popular and busy strip, Boracay's Station 1. I'm not a big fan of hotel food, so most of our meals during our stay was at this plaza. Surprisingly, the restaurants were not really that expensive here. Not if you're an eatery surrounded by competition. There's so much to explore in the shopping plaza, This place is a must visit.

I'm looking over the Boracay map on Yelp to see if I missed anything. I came across this Budget…read moreMart(I'll get to that in a second), but first; Many of the places we ate aren't on Yelp. Most things on Yelp had already closed or something new moved in. Out of all things to be on Yelp, this Budget Mart; I can't believe it! We were out on our nightly walk. I think we might've been coming back from dinner. We needed to pick up a few things before heading back to the room. Water... beach/room snacks... more shampoo... and so on. We go over the hill and there it stands! BUDGET MART... with all of their bright lights hitting you in the face. The reason this is important is because this island has little to no convenience stores. "You don't know what you got... until it's gone." There was one other convenience store we found(a 7-Eleven). I bet you... 8 out of every 10 times we went by/in there, their power was out, no employee inside the store, or they never had change. It was odd. So to have this huge bright Budget Mart sitting there waiting for us. Perfect. This place is located in the perfect spot... almost in the middle of everything and every direction. It has everything and all of your essentials. Options! You don't just have 2 or 3 different kinds of chips to choose from, you have about 20 different kinds of chips to choose from(and from other countries!). This is going to sound weird(lol), but Budget Mart is convenience done right. If you're in a pinch, in your room, on Yelp, and can't find a convenience store... get up, and go to Budget Mart!

Budget Mart is the closest thing to a real supermarket on Boracay…read more It's actually a convenience store since they don't sell fresh food, just packaged, canned and frozen stuff. They have almost everything else you need...beer, juice, snacks, ice cream, cosmetics and paper products. There are two locations in Boracay....the main one is right at the entrance to D'Mall on the Main Road, and it's always packed. The second location is in Station 3. Until they finish the new City Mall, which will have a real, Western style supermarket, this is best place to stock up on the basics, at good prices too. I go there almost every day!
