Hussain (not Hussain's apparently) is an old skool gents hairdressers that will give you a "trim", to use the solitary technical term of old man hairstyles, for around... actually I don't know how much it is. £3.50? £4? A fiver gets change anyway, and I've never had to go somewhere afterwards to have it fixed. They have plush leather seating for about 10 dudes and they're always very friendly. You'll get the offer of a brew if there's any kind of wait. There's the standard mix of English red tops and slightly more worthy looking papers from the Indian sub-continent, they have a lot more words on the page anyway, but no motoring magazines. Occasionally there's an excitable chap who sits in the corner and shouts "lovely jubbly" at everything. Parking can be had on the street outside.

Visited Modern Hairdressing for a cut and finish on Thursday…read more Really happy with my haircut which is the main thing, and the place itself is furnished/fitted out to a really high standard (they have TV's built into the walls next to the mirrors so you can watch TV while getting your haircut!) The only thing which lets this place down is the service. I didn't really feel looked after during my visit (no-one acknowledged me when I entered for example).

Cutting Corner is a traditional barbers complete with red and white roller and traditional decor. Even all the cutting and styling equipment is old fashioned. Their price list is printed in an archaic font perfecting the feel of an authentic mens barbers. Headingley is packed with trendy male students sporting spikey hair and straightened retro mullets. I am sure these styles cannot be achieved here. I presumming Cutting Corners provides for the older clientele still living in the area. For under a tenner a blokie can head on in for a short back and sides or shave down to a number 1! The service is as traditional as the decor. If its a cheap and simple cut you are after, this is your place. However if you are looking for a new image or head turning mohecan I would suggest you look else where.

Two staff were working when I visited and both seemed really friends and happy to chat. I discussed what I wanted and the gent was very accommodating to my requests. As I was flying the next day for an interview I wanted something fresh and clean. The atmosphere was welcoming and I felt like a regular straight away. A cool shop with some awesome decorative features there is an American theme.

I had my hair cut by a gentleman with short ginger hair and a short beard at the Leeds store on the 29th of September 2015 around 4.30 pm. He was not friendly whatsoever. After trying to make conversation and only receiving one word responses I stayed quiet during the duration of my haircut whilst listening to him speak with other clients which he was very keen to make conversation with. In addition to the unwelcoming atmosphere my bags were all covered in hair which I was told to place on the seats next to me, one of which was a cake, which the packaging was completely covered in hair which then fell onto the cake itself and made it no longer edible. I would not recommend this place very shocking service and it most definitely did not live up to the price for the haircut.
