Zurheide is a franchise partner of EDEKA which is one of the largest supermarket group in Germany. Zurheide has numerous shops in NRW, in some of them they also have small restaurants, their Bistro. Normally you wouldn't expect to find such high quality food in Bottrop, so it was a pleasant surprise. The setting is modern, clean, with nice decor elements. Service is attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly. They make good recommendations for food and wine. They have a decent selection of wines by the glass which are all very reasonably priced. You can choose between half a glass and a full glass which I think is a great idea. If you want to go for a bottle you can choose any of the ones on their wine racks or in their stores, so great selection. They have a small food menu which should cater any taste. We went for the dry aged US rib eye which was an excellent choice, so juicy and tender. It was cooked perfectly to our liking. Great fries that came with it! In general the food is not expensive if you don't go for the US rib eye. Great value for money! Already looking forward to trying their other Bistros!

Their beers and coffees on the other hand, are quite good. It's very enjoyable sitting outside here on a warm summer day with a frosty glass of wheat beer.
