It's been around year since my initial review of this location. It has still been my main branch since I have both personal and business accounts with Citibank. As such, it's only right for me to update my experience and rating. I've developed what I believe is a very good relationship with the branch manager and her staff. Suji and tellers Melissa, Maria, and Niina are always incredibly nice, patient, and willing to help me out. Yes, this branch appears understaffed at times (usually Mondays and Fridays) and the wait time is a little longer than you'd expect, but due to my banking relationship and good customer service they've demonstrated, I'll continue banking here for as long as this branch is open. read more

I opened a Certificate of Deposit and transferred $180K from Wells Fargo Bank. Citibank flagged my account for fraud for whatever reason. After about 10 days, several phone calls to the Citibank Fraud Department, and several trips to the bank, my funds were cleared. Bank employee Ricardo Larios was very professional and courteous during my interactions with him. However, my experience otherwise was very frustrating, including the manager telling me he would take care of me, and stating that he would call me when the funds were available (no longer being held hostage), but he never did. And the Fraud Department even hung up on me once. Citibank is a horrible bank. Their lines are long and slow going because they typically only have one teller window open. I closed my accounts and took my money back to Wells Fargo Bank, where I receive much better customer service. If you're considering doing business with Citibank I highly recommend that you go elsewhere. read more

Wow! We recently transferred money from Wells Fargo to Citibank Upland. What a wonderful experience. Hector Gomez could not have been more accommodating. He made us feel like we have been customers forever. A+, five star service. read more

Shocking Experience with Citi Bank: Account Closed and Long Wait for Refund I wanted to share my recent experience with Citi Bank that left me feeling frustrated and confused. Out of the blue, I found that my bank account had been closed due to alleged fraudulent activity--without any prior warning or notification from the bank. While I appreciate that banks need to protect their customers, the way in which this was handled was concerning. The sudden closure meant that I lost access to my funds, which created a lot of unnecessary stress for me. To make matters worse, I was informed that it would take between 30 to 60 days to process a refund of my balance. Waiting this long for my own money was incredibly frustrating. I felt completely in the dark throughout the entire process, as there was little to no communication from the bank regarding the status of my case or what steps I needed to take next. It's essential for financial institutions to prioritize customer communication and provide clearer guidelines in situations like these. I hope my situation sheds light on the need for better customer service practices in the banking industry. Do not trust Citi Bank read more

I was pleased with the service at Citibank-Upland, CA. 1) the bank was open Saturday morning. 2) Gabriel was caring, knowledgeable, and helpful. read more

I can never get accurate information or even someone to answer the phone. I'm two seconds away from switching banks at this point.

Imagine being evacuated from your home because of a fire, and you can't get back. Then Citibank flags your card for fraud. When you call in to clear it up they tell you they can't do anything for you until the mail a letter to your home and you call back. Where is the common sense? Absolutely disgusting and insulting customer service. read more

Do not trust the outside atm at this location it robbed me I put in a cash deposit and the atm just took my money without showing me a balance or anything I checked my account on my mobile app and nothing showed up Now im dealing with an investigation that will take up to 45 days to figure out what happened with my money that deposited Citibank is very inconvenient and horrible when it comes to taking care of their customers read more

This location is not a big place, also they are not very friendly and they seem to rush you . But I quit doing business with them because they kept 52,000 dollars of my money. They haven't heard the last of me. read more

Citibank is not the bank for me. I was told by the Citibank staff that I had to call the Citibank 800 number to cancel a credit card that I did not request to receive. I called the phone number for 48 hours. Finally got through. Citibank told me I could not cancel this credit card that I never requested ! Ugh ! They stated I needed to give them my social security number. I have neve r banked with them, and I do not randomly give my number out! Who sends credit cards unsolicited, and then refuses cancellation! That is crazy !!! I can not give you any stars ! read more

On Friday, November 22nd, I received a check from my new employer so that I may purchase my work equipment. It was written for $3,500. I mobile deposited it immediately. Come Saturday I go into my Citi app and my main checking that I've had for almost 15 years was closed by the bank, and my secondary checking account was blocked! I went into the upland branch to get some answers. The lady helping me was nice at first. Then she called the fraud department to figure out what was going on. When she got off the phone, her demeanor towards me changed significantly! She was now very short with me, insinuating I'm a criminal! She said the check I received was a fraudulent check. Like how the heck am I supposed to know that! She then informed me that the fraud department has already closed my main checking account and is in the process of closing my other checking account as well as my savings account with them. I said, but why!? I can prove to you that this was a potential job and I had the entire conversation, printed up ready for her to look at and I showed her the emails and everything and she said that there was nothing she could do at a branch level that I would have to call the number on the back of my card. She was super dismissive! I told her I tried several times before coming into the branch that I tried calling the number on the back of the card, but it wasn't recognizing my debit card number my social or my account number. She said yes it will. you just need to call back again I said how if you guys have closed my account and you have taken away any of my access on the app to even sign in!? Her behavior and lack of willingness to help me get to the bottom of this was purely disgusting. But then last night I received an email saying that my mobile check was in fact accepted AND deposited, and that my funds are available in an account that I no longer have access to, so I'm thinking that they prematurely accused me of that being a fraudulent check, but now the funds are available? This makes zero sense and when I asked her, what about the money I already had in my account before this check she said well if we have no reason to keep your money that was there before the check then we will send you a check in the mail!!! What the actual f$%k! I will take this to a news reporter if I have to,if they don't help me understand what the heck is going on or help get back into my accounts! I asked her if I can just open a new account and she said no you'll never be able to bank with Citibank again and you'll likely be blacklisted from opening up any other bank accounts with other banks! So help me God if I have to I will take this to the news. I am filing a police report against the bank, and the FBI will be investigating this!!! read more

I am very disappointed in the way branch manager in Upland office. The way he reated me concerning a problem with regards to a check that I have been depositing with money release immediate for the last year and half. I have reason to believe the teller lack of knowledge and Branch Manager lack of proffessional cause me to experience a very horrible feeling that I never want to experience again. I am not a criminal, I am a 15 year plus customer in good standing with all my accounts. This branch use to be my favorite but with the new staff, they have become so disrespectful offering no assistance as if they dont care. What happen to customer service ? I will be closing my checking account my line of credit as well as my costco citibank card as hurtful as it mabe for me to do this it must be done. I refuse to do business with someone who looks and treat me as a joke and play games with My money. To the Branch Manager take your job serious playing with customer(s) and their money is wrong. I am asking someone prior to my departure to please look at my accounts and give me a reason why after 10 months with no problems my check was not honored. Thanks Billy R. read more

This branch has the WORST customer service. They don't deserve any stars. I'm definitely taking my business elsewhere.

I see I'm not the only one who is fed up with Citibank. They really hate their customers. I have had my cards locked up twice this week. It takes a half hour on the phone giving them all sorts of information each time. That's just the latest horror show they've put on for me. A sample of other problems I have had with them: App doesn't work more than it works Have to log in twice on the website They doubled my rate on the business card because I was a week late and wouldn't reduce it They require a token to transfer money to my personal, which doesn't work. Only external payments come up when selecting make a payment, going into the card first has a completely different interface. Can't get rid of external payments I have to keep reconnecting to Quickbooks both personal and business. 4/2019 read more

There needs to be a "Consistency" between Citibank & CitiCard .... Last Saturday, I went to make a CitiCard payment inside this Branch. I was misinformed by Ninna Creencia that if l paid by Western Union Money Order, it'll post into your account within 24 Hours? A payment from your Debit Card via Wells Fargo will take longer to post? I went to the Western Union to collect a Money Order (which are "Guaranteed Funds") to pay my CitiCard inside the bank... Low and Behold, the following day, Citibank cashed it but CitiCard held my deposit for the next (TEN) Days??? Had I known this would've occurred, I would've just paid via Debit Card altogether. read more

I know others have had other experiences, but I had only great service at this branch. I went in with a tricky problem regarding a lost card. There weren't long lines, but I was standing in the lobby with a lost look. Christopher saw me and came out to ask what I needed. I explained, and he spend about 20 minutes helping me unravel it -- successfully. Best customer service I've had at a bank in ages. read more

DO NOT trust this financial institution with your money. We transferred a large amount to them for better interest, and now after 2 1/2 years of banking with them, they suddenly decided that they can not identify us with the same information that we opened our account with and have used for every transaction ever made with them. They have been holding our money hostage for 3 weeks now, and will not help us, despite giving them every piece of identification they have on us. They claim to have mailed us a letter to our correct address to help them identify us, and since we didn't get it, I was told today that they can no longer help us. How can they no longer help us? I was also told by a supervisor on 3/11 that if I go into a branch with every form of ID we have, we can still not get our money, they will not help us, and they won't say why. We have filed a complaint through the CFPB with no response, and are now seeking legal counsel. I have worked in banking for many years, and maintain close relationships with managers in financial institutions, no one has heard of this response. Take your money elsewhere. DO NOT TRUST THIS INSTITUTION! read more

The wait time here can be grueling because they're understaffed. However, those that are employed here are incredibly kind and helpful in my experience. Sylvia is my go-to banker and she always finds a way to make my life easier. Her customer service skills are top notch and she's able to efficiently answer all of my questions. The ATM is located outside and is more accessible than the one in Claremont. Employ a few more bankers like Sylvia and this place will run smoothly. Then it'll be worth 5 stars in my book. read more

Since the great Claremont office closed, Upland is the only option. Employees are very nice but way understaffed. NO EXCUSE FOR THIS. Today, there were fifteen people in line and the Citi Gold line was closed. I have been a loyal customer but I will be looking for another bank. Too bad. By the lack of response from the many one star Yelp reviews, it appears that management doesn't really care. read more

There's ZERO star would grant if it available!! 1. Always looooong line loooong waiting time!! Was there for domestic wiring transfer to escrow account. Took me one hour and half! At the end, forgot provide me the proof of wiring transaction! Teller told me only banker can do wiring transfer. There were 2 bankers, one with client, the other one said she was in the middle of some task, told me wait. But what I saw that the banker was walking in n out between her cubic and behind the teller area. She was not sitting on her chair to do the "task" she mentioned!! 2. Request speak to supervisor, the tellers discussing about my request behind the window. They were thinking they are whispering, actually they are loud and eye sight at me while "whispering". NOT professional at all!! 3. Couple weeks later, return to Bank request close account. Teller said uncleared activity on the account, unable close today. Must wait 2 business days. Teller assuming that I used ATM card and input the wrong pin. I know what I do today, told teller I wasn't use ATM card today and not in recently few month at all! Teller consistently saying failure ATM actions happened today. Fine, no argument. Request speak with supervisor. I've been told NO supervisor on duty today. Seriously?! No supervisor on duty on a typical weekday? What a Bank! 4. I was calling customer service before heading to bank, tried to avoid service from this location, deal with this Bank is really making me too much headache. However, I got bad experience with CITI customer service call center. I've been told to have account owner contact them, as POA I can't place any requirements.
