I am a long time customer at Citibank in Burbank, for two main reasons: 1) convenient location on Glenoaks, and 2) terrific customer care. Whenever I visit the branch, I am always met with a smile and a sincere greeting. Transactions are handled smoothly and efficiently. Sometimes I've waited in line for a bit, but it's usually at the 1st of the month when all banks are busier anyway. Today there were two security guards on duty, they were pleasant and opened the door for me coming in and going out. I would like to recognize two special employees, Ramina and Gustavo, who are truly exceptional in the outstanding service that they consistently provide, treating me as an individual and not just another customer in line. came in at 10:15 to open my daughter an acct the lady told us to have sit . 10 min later she came and said we would need to come back after 12 I asked why . she said because she is waiting on her 10 o'clock appt . it was 15 min after 10 I explained we took an uber but she still wouldn't help . she did help someone else that was not her appt . I don't normally review banking institutions because I absolutely hate dealing with them. I have yet to find a decent bank that'll actually meet my expectations and needs. It's sad to think that people who deal with they're hard earned money doesn't get the right treatment when it comes to banks. I have my account here for close to a decade but I might have been inside the establishment probably only four times which includes the day I opened the account itself. There's no other Citibank branch in Burbank other than this one unlike BofA which has 3 while Chase has at least 5, I believe so I'm pretty much stuck down with this branch. I hate the fact that the stairs leading to the front entrance through Glenoaks isn't suited for people with mobility issues. There's no handicap walkways not ramps so going to the two atms that's about 50 feet from the street is a constant struggle. Same issues with the bank entrance through Magnolia. You have to go through a flight of stairs before even reaching street level. Plus the distance from parking to the bank itself is a lot farther. Customer service? Don't even start with me because it's non-existent here. Poorly staffed branch where no one is ever available. I probably dealt with two different individuals here in the past who were bought rude and seemed unhappy with their job. I might have to close this account soon. Just not having enough to start again all over to setup direct deposit, automatic payments, etc. One thing for sure, closure of my bank account has long been overdue. read more

I have had some major issues with this bank. I opened an account here because I thought they were a nationwide bank. They are not and do not have any affiliate banks in Oregon that can help you with cashier checks or transferring funds. My fault for not doing more research on the bank but I have had their citicard for years and just figured they were. I called customer service for help and they are the worst. What ever call center they are working with follows a script and will not deviate from it. No help at all. I finally found a number for the Burbank branch and got help from Suzanne. She was amazing!! She literally is the only good thing about this bank. Very polite and helpful on the phone. I would have lost my mind without her help. read more

RED FLAG EVERYONE! Be really careful when you are making a cash deposit! COUNT TWICE YOUR MONEY BEFORE HANDING IT OVER TO THE CASHIER. I am talking in particular about one of the teller (asian or philippine like women). Here is my experience: Today i went inside the bank to make a cash deposit. Of course i counted my money before I handed over to the teller. I told her I wanted to make a deposit and did not mentioned the amount of cash I gave her. She puts the money in the counting money machine and comes up with $260 shorter of the initial cash deposit I gave her. Of course I told her that it was wrong and she pretended like she did not see the right amount on the counting machine. Yea right. You come up from $960 to $700 and think I am stupid! NOW TELL ME HOW IN THE HELL YOU CAN SAY AN AMOUNT OR NUMBER NOT EVEN CLOSE OF THE MONEY THE COUNTING MACHINE IS SHOWING YOU? She was weird and acted very shady because I caught her on her lies. I've been Banking with this particular branch for over 10 years and I have to say we have our ups and downs for all these years. Since the new Manager Ara took over this location things started to change for the good. Outside ATMs that were down most of the time were working much efficient. They also have very short lines forming inside and the staff really knows what they are doing. I have a personal checking/savings, Business checking and patrol setup with this bank. They also handled my business loan and my home loan. This is a well balanced bank to help you with all your needs from personal level to business level. My professor at UCLA was the head of the programing for Citibank, and I learned years ago that how much money they invest in security, and how secure the process is. They also have a free parking at the building behind of you can't find parking at the front. read more

I have good and bad comments: 11 desks in this branch, only 2 being used.. seems like somseone went a little overboard with the furniture purchases. But seriously, why is there no " front desk" attendant? There's was a long line at the tellers...and I needed to talk to a desk. So I stood patiently in the wrong line, just to see if I could ask them where I should go. Luckily, the one desk who was actually helping people (I'm not sure why the "wealth management" desk thinks he's above even making eye contact with anyone who doesn't reek of money and privilege..but he should take a lesson from the other guy (Alen) for customer service pointers), finished and I scooted out of line to try and steal his attention. I was too late, as another woman snuck ahead, but he was kind and offered me a comfortable chair to wait in. Anyway, when I finally got to speak with the personal banker, I was pleasantly surprised. Alen Kazaryan was very understanding of my situation and did the right thing (for once an employee comes out from hiding behind the business policy to practice some humanity- that doesn't happen too often anymore). So thank you, Alen. Though you didn't know it, you diverted me from closing my account and going deep underground. Lol I hope this branch hires more staff like Alen. I just moved to the Burbank area, and have chosen this as my go-to Citibank location. First thing to note: The parking SUCKS! There are only 3 or so spots on the street to run out if you need cash, or to drop off a check. So sometimes it takes a while to find parking, and it's not very convenient. The line for the tellers can be long sometime... ... and when you're bored, and you look up at the ceiling, you can admire the really old-school 80's lighting. It's a little strange. But Citibank? Always a thumbs up! Love citibank... especially their savings account with high interest rates ;-) And Thank You points!! Love those babies! read more

I don't understand the bad reviews. The customer service at this branch is amazing. All the tellers are incredibly helpful and friendly. I've never had to wait longer than a couple minutes to be helped, if that. The last time I was there I was literally in and out in less than a minute. When they see a line start to form they make sure they line up more tellers. I've been banking with citi for a little over a year my regular branch near my house just doesn't seem so welcoming especially when you're doing sensitive transactions that need extra attention, once I stumbled upon the Burbank location on Magnolia all my problems were solved, the entire staff is very attentive they love to help you out and explain to you how to go about the proper way of banking, Mary Has been the best banker I could ask for, she answers all my questions has a lot of patience with me even though some of my questions might be from a beginner's perspective, she still takes the time to explain to me what I need to know and how I need to proceed through this whole thing, Mary Has been my right hand when it comes to the bank, anytime the supervisors are called to help her with things out of her hands the supervisors help us out really fast she must be such a great worker that they don't bother to check her work twice, I wish all of the bank tellers where as courteous as Mary is, it will allow us to feel a lot better about walking into a bank it also makes me feel a lot safer talking to someone that has my best interest at heart. Customer service from management is among the worst I've experienced. Coming in to ask them to rectify a mistake that a cashier made on a simple withdrawal transaction was more unpleasant than it should be at a bank you have been a customer for over 15 years. My father made a deposit and he asked if he could get $40 in quarters (for laundry- what else do u need quarters for!)... Long story short, my father not paying attention- only received 2 rolls of quarters and didn't realize it was only 20 dollars worth of quarters. We didn't realize it until we were at the laundromat that he never got the other 20$ worth of quarters. Needles to say, we went back in the afternoon to ask for his money- and at first the girl said she did give it or he lost it and in any case he'd have to wait until the end of the day to see if there was extra $ in the register... Which would be ok except they seemed to blame him for the mistake and I have a feeling his lack of fluency in English made her feel he was probably mistaken or lying. I went in to ask a second time to talk to the manager and she was not very pleasant and seemed defensive telling me we'd wait until 6'o'clock to close the register. At which point the cashier comes by to "explain" what my dad asked for and she said again she gave him the money. Needles to say we waited to have them check then - not 6pm- and YES! She forgot to give him his money! The manager didn't been hs be the nerve to apologize or the other cashier! They sent someone else to give us the bill as if we were bothering them did no reason! I will definitely be looking to change banks soon! A simple " oh sorry about that - let me check right now and we'll find the problem" would have sufficed! - no excuses ! I love citibank however this branch Im so pissed it! I sent my client to the bank to do some very important work. She arrived at 4:43pm. And the lady locked and closed the door in her face and said close now at 4:30. Well according to the website, the citibank help line and branch they close at 5pm. Citibank has not costed me money! I've been a business customer of Citi Bank for years. First time ever encountering what I encountered today. I noticed fee's on my business account and haven't had any activity on my production account. Sam Tabbara the bank manager couldn't explain to me where these bank fee's were being charged from and why? After fifteen minutes of the run around with no straight answers Sam then says I just need to pay the fees and that I shouldn't have a business account with little money in it. (It's none of this employee's business what is in my account first of all and how much is run through it. I explained it's a production account and production money on projects is placed into the account. As we are in production money is spent. Regardless Sam refuses to give me any straight answer as to why I incurred fees. I became aggravated and cursed to him about the situation and stated I'm not blaming or cursing you. He said he has the right to refuse service and I said I have the right to freedom of speech as long as it's not directed at him. Sam asked me to leave and I refused as I was given no explanation to my situation. He said he would call the police on me as he was nervous he couldn't give me clear answers, I responded to his threat to go ahead and call the police and this isn't how you treat any customer let alone a business customer. I called corporate and spoke with a supervisor who was on the call when police arrived. Police were polite and friendly and explained the laws that I have to leave due to being on private property. I said fine and told them I was on phone with corporate. The supervisor couldn't believe the conversation that I was being treated this way by the bank manager. With in 5min she had the answers I was looking for about the bank charges on my account. Sam couldn't answer and instead of calling corporate as they are instructed to do he calls police. Makes false statements that I'm banned from the branch and will personally close my account to police. The bank must do an investigation and the Area director with a security team must review the incident before anyone's banned or account closed. Sam is the rudest, un informed bank manager I've ever dealt with. He goes out side of his training to make false claims and instead of owning his ignorance in understanding bank transactions to avoid embarrassment he calls the police. There was no hostile incident and the police said it was a complete waste of their time but have to abide by the laws. I willingly left to be respectful to the police but Sam completely disrespected me as a bank customer, financially discriminated against me saying I need to keep more money in my account and made false statements to police about my personal business and accounts that is not within his power. I would advice all customers or public to avoid this bank branch at all costs. Clearly Sam doesn't understand business or how to treat customers. This manager should be fired and replaced. I've contacted my attorneys regarding what occurred today and don't wish to proceed with a civil case. I'm currently waiting for the area director to call me to discuss what occurred. I did video the incident if I have to proceed with the court. I will also upload content via social media so the public is aware of this manager and branch. I'm appalled as to the level of client I am to Citi Bank and wish that this is solved on a professional level and this managers actions are severely dealt with. I'm considering doing my business with another bank altogether after this has occurred. read more
