Upon entering I was not greeted with a "Hello" or a smile. No one asked "How are you today?" or…read moreeven "How may I help you?" The latter being necessary. Poor attitudes in general. They were not helpful. I admit I had a question they could not answer, there was no show of interest in serving me as the customer. So when I saw there was no interest to serve me and my money could be better spent elsewhere I tried to leave. However, I was even followed to my car and the clerk told me how "nasty" I had been when I was just asking a question. When THEY had first not followed minimum customer service standards and then rude to me. Again, the me being the customer. Upon returning home I found that I was not the only person to have visited the store over the years had also had a bad experience. I have worked in customer service for over fifteen years in a well established corporation and I know exactly how customers want to be treated and that doesn't even come close. I was treated better at the fast food restaurant later in the day by a waitress who probably makes half of a jewelry clerk's salary. If you are a business owner, everyone that walks through your door should be an investment in your businesses future. Treat them with respect, try to figure out their needs even if you find you cannot help them. Sometimes the best investments you make are in communicating with the customer in a manner that shows you are a positive face of the business..
