These were my old stomping grounds as I lived not far as a young man and I had friends and girlfriends that lived in the neighborhood behind this place as an even younger man. So, most of my memories of this location are a literal century ago. Good times, though. Good times. I like the name of this recent takeover because it shares it with my Rat Terrier-Dachshund mix. Birdie. I only wish the logo or mascot, instead of some cartoon yellow ducky, could be my precious pup with her big ears. That'd be so freaking adorable. But back to the store itself. It looks like an old Circle K. Inside and out. Mostly the same, just older. Maybe a few things different. Clothing being a big one. I didn't even venture any closer but from a distance it almost appeared like they were selling school uniforms near the fountain drinks. What makes this place okay is their pricing. Everything in 2026 is outrageous and this place doesn't seem that out of control with their wares. I bought a Chamoy Mega Pickle-In-A-Pouch for $1.99. That's cheaper than Five Below. So, is it the Circle K of the last century? No. Sadly not. But it'll do for here and now.
