Good Earth Natural Foods - A few of my favorite products that GE carries.

I'd love to share about this all certified organic grocery store we learned about when we moved to…read moreMarin. Believe the hype, folks, the produce here is top notch and totally can go toe to toe with farmers market quality produce! We have pretty much been buying all of our produce here and we are always so pleased with the taste and quality. There are also such high quality products in the beauty/ self care section. And, the RO water is so inexpensive and truly the best tasting water that you can fill up your own jugs from. Fresh baked breads and pastries are delish! Zucchini bread is my favorite!!! Finally, a huge shout out to the hot food bar and salad bar. So many vegan options, and they're soooooo good! My husband and I have lunched here many times after grocery shopping, after hikes, or just when we're in the area and are hungry. The vegan Cesar dressing is the t*ts!! Of course, this is one of the more pricey grocery stores. But, if you take good care of your health now, it pays off to be preventative rather than reactive. Good Earth, you make grocery shopping so fun and at the same time so zen. Thank you!!!

Overall, the store is lovely. I do enjoy visiting their produce section when I am in the area and…read morethey have this massive sourdough sandwich bread that is like 3 1/2 pounds that is gorgeous and I got a fresh loaf today. Banh mi Ba was closed today because they aren't open on Tuesday so I decided to get a sandwich from the Good Earth deli. It was meant to be a tofu banh mi -- It was on sourdough baguette with a pair of massive slabs of baked tofu. I give them credit for the delicious Japanese style pickle, but there simply wasn't enough of it and the scanty slices of daikon were OK, but ultimately this was better as a salad without the bread and added vinaigrette myself. Those chunks of tofu were undeniably tofu, but it was just not a great sandwich experience. The funny thing is, I had asked a couple of men dining outside the grocery store. If there was anything they recommended at the deli. They both told me what they had ordered and suggested requesting extra barbecue sauce for the brisket because it's quite dry. I was not expecting my tofu sandwich to be so dry but also soggy. I'll stick with Banh mi Ba for my banh mi -- and try other things at good earth going forward. Also, I just want to note that last November on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, my tire was vandalized by somebody who stuck a knife into it twice in on purpose purposes of the sidewall. They do not have cameras on the parking lot and even Fairfax police said "oh well we can't take reports for things that happened on private property" which honestly makes me wonder what they do when somebody breaks into a house or does something on "private" property. Does that mean laws are not enforced on private property in Fairfax? Stay tuned.

Woodlands Market - Filet mignon, I should have cut it too med rare, so good.

I especially love grabbing a fresh sourdough baguette (and sometimes a muffin or two!), and most of all, their roasted chicken. They also offer a variety of quick, last-minute lunch and dinner options that are definitely worth picking up. The store is very organized and super clean, and the staff is always quick and friendly at checkout. Although it's a pricey grocery store, it's nice to know that all their items are clean and healthy.

Not knowing anyone in the area and living in a 2 bedroom apartment we decided to outsource thanksgiving to Woodlands Market in Kentfield. We had shopped a few times at Kentfield and were very pleased with our experience so figured this was the ideal place to try takeout Thanksgiving. The pickup process was very convenient, they had a tent outside with multiple people helping customers. They walked through the order list show each item on the order list to make sure there wasn't anything missing, also they helped load items into the car. They even had snacks to offer, they made the atmosphere for pickup very nice ! We did their small turkey and assorted sides with desert option as we wanted some left overs. We were very happy with our choice !!! The sides were packed in aluminum containers which made re-heating very easy, the turkey was pre cooked so just needed to reheat. They provided instructions on how to reheat everything. Only thing I would change was I would of foiled the turkey top 1/2 through the reheat. The funny thing is when I went to throw out the box that the meal came in there was 2 boxes in the dumpster from others in the same dumpster from the apartment complex. Clearly we weren't the only ones overall this was a great experience and am going to order through them for Christmas as well.

We pulled into the parking lot of Santa Venetia Market and dealt with the crazy. Diaper change, feeding, the works. While we were in the parking lot, we noticed a lot of people coming and going, it seemed like people were coming here for lunch. So, we decided to wander in and check it out. The staff here was personable, sparking up conversation and super friendly. We ordered two sandwiches, and I was surprised at how great they were. The sourdough bread was tangy, the meat was sliced super thin (which somehow makes it taste better?) and all the veggies were super crisp and fresh. We stumbled on this place by mishap, but my husband and I agreed it seemed like a place we would actually seek out. Definitely reccomend checking this place out if you're a local, or if you're just passing through!

There is also a great selection of cold drinks and premade meals in the fridge section. The employees are always friendly. There is a small parking lot which is adjacent to a gas station and other businesses. It gets busy at lunch time so be prepared for a line to order a sandwich and the parking lot to be busy.
