Who knew I would find Williamsburg, Brooklyn in Mexico, City? A film-oriented hipster bar in the Roma area, adorned with movie posters all around and a marvelous brick oven (for pizza) at the back of the restaurant. The menu is extensive, I went with the Shrimp burger and my friend went with the seafood pizza. Not being in the red meat mood, the shrimp burger sounded appealing. I should've foresaw, however, that it would be a patty arriving with a strong fishy scent and served with deliciously, crispy french fries. I eventually did bite into the burger, well, actually, I cut it with a knife after waiting 5 minutes for one (fast service wasn't really their thing on this night). It was surprisingly good and massive, easily could have been shared by two. Needless to say, I didn't finish it. The seafood pizza was a much better choice, though the seafood was scarce, the crust had a tasty crispy texture (from the brick oven, I suppose) and the cheese was mild but also quite tasty.
The place was pretty poppin' on a Thursday night but although they have pretty great cocktails (I had two mezcal-based kinds though I can't remember which ones exactly) they do close quite early (around 12). There were no events happening on this particular night but I heard they host film viewing events and such.
Cool spot to get a cocktail and chill at so grab your plaid and make it a chill hipster night. read more
