Even if you must park a ways away, you are walking through Eden Park which is beautiful in all seasons. The museum and the park are really integrated into one of the most lovely areas of Cincinnati, with views of Mount Auburn and Downtown Cincinnati also! The museum is always FREE which is incredible. The ticketed exhibits are paid but they do offer one time per week that admission is free, and events with exhibit access like Art After Dark. They also offer free tickets through the public library system. So, I appreciate the myriad ways that the museum has been made accessible to all people. From the steps of the lobby (and beautiful Chihuly glass overhead) to the far reaching wings, education area, or theater, every part of the museum is clean and beautiful. It's so peaceful being inside. The docents are helpful and professional. Be sure to visit the Cincinnati wing for some special pieces, and see the views of the city from the upper floors. I will keep coming back forever and enjoying something new about the museum each time!

You won't find a Rothko here, but you will find an exceptional collection and rotating exhibits worth your attention. Plan half a day for this museum, and plan more than half a day of you see an even being run by one of their artists in residence. It is not uncommon to visit the Contemporary Arts Center, and then get swept into an artist in residence hands-on event for two to four hours...and then you leave remembering you need to come back another time to visit all of the artworks you had planned on seeing!

The draw for me was the Gee Horton exhibit. It has since closed (as of August 30) but it was beautiful. I did visit the other exhibits while I was there and it took maybe less than an hour to go through the entire museum. I think the cost is pretty standard for a contemporary museum, but I'm not sure if they offer any free admission days as that would be a great incentive to get people in the doors. The staff I encountered were helpful and they also have a coffee shop with plenty of seating on the ground floor.

What a charming, quirky and fun place! I was in the…read moreCincinnati area and this popped into my Facebook feed. You need to book an appointment to visit and the owner very graciously fit us in even though they had a fairly packed schedule. The space is in a cool art/studio space where various artisans rent out areas. The museum owner told me about some of the history of the building which was really interesting to hear. I love when old spaces are reimagined. When you get to the building that the museum is in, the cat museum is down the hall and to the right. (there isn't any directional signage when you enter the building). You know you are in the right place when you see the giant blow up lucky cat. The museum itself is a small space, but it is packed, literally wall to wall and floor to ceiling with lucky cat and other cat related items. There are several interactive items (noted with a paw so you know what you can and can't touch). There are items the owners collected, items created by the owners and items created and donated by others. One of my daughter's favorites was the weird al lucky cat and the super tiny lucky cat. We spent a surprisingly long amount of time in there because my daughter wanted to look at and take in as many details as possible. The museum itself is free, but you can make a donation. You can also support the museum and owner by making a purchase in the shop. They have everything from $1 small trinket items to large and expensive stuffed animals and souvenir shirts. If you are looking for something unique and quirky to do, definitely check out this super fun space.

Once inside go to the back and to the right... from there on it is easy because then you will see a big ole lucky cat and the entrance is marked. It is a small museum, but houses thousands of lucky cats. Varieties you have never seen before. Big ones, tiny ones, interactive ones, old ones, new ones.... Enjoy

It was truly amazing. The amount of work and expense and research put into this place, is off the chart! You absolutely cannot miss this. If you're considering going, consider no more, and get in the car. It's a must encounter for every Christian who has ever wondered how the book of Genesis is relevant for today and compatible with science. If you're asking those questions in any form, you're just gonna love it! You will encounter friendly people, extremely well-thought-out exhibits, beautiful grounds, and architecture (especially the plants), easy services and amenities, and exceptional presentations by extremely intelligent and well researched people. And, of course, theme park priced food, which was good, but not exceptional. You're not going for the food, you're going for the mind blowing explanations and answers to questions you and your neighbor asked for a long time.

The exhibits had a lot of reading - which made it difficult as it started to get crowded. The gardens were beautiful. We attended the worship session first and ended up starting at the end of the exhibits... signs would have been helpful or arrows on the carpets. Security was heavily armed and K9 dogs ... staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all questions.
