And we had issues with flooding in our backyard due to some drainage problems from next-door neighbor pools. He added some rocks and topsoil. Two days ago we had horrendous rains in Cincinnati with 60 mph winds. And guess what, noflooding in the backyard! In addition, he did landscaping in our side yard that faces the street. First, they give a two hour window to come give a quote. Though I value my time, I'm also in need of a solution and finding landscapers after so much rain is proving hard (side note: when I ask for suggestions, I keep getting ideas of who NOT to call). Second, with other contractors I've gotten the estimate at the same time as the quote. This place said they would email or mail me the quote. Two weeks later I was on a terror about Duke Energy, so I called Dave Vogel and asked for the names of his competitors because I figured he didn't or wasn't able to do the job since he didn't send the quote. He laughed and said he has no competitors because he's the best. I said if that's the case, I would have gotten a quote. Then, I got some run around that it was emailed, but they'd email it again. I'm not sure what kind of technology they use, but I didn't get it that evening and had suggested they just snail mail it since they had the address from visiting my house. At this point I just wanted to see what they suggested because I was thinking maybe I could DIY it. I received the quote 4 weeks after his employee visited my house to give a quote. Terrible. Then, I got a phone asking when I wanted to schedule them. Laughable!

Lexy is an arborist's arborist: he has exceptional knowledge of tree biology and care techniques, and he has a team that demonstrates the same expertise and skill. Not to mention, what a heck of a nice group of people to work with. They were all so warm, respectful, and kind, just like Lexy. They worked on a one-hundred-year-old red maple and a one-hundred-year-old hackberry tree in my yard. The red maple was particularly challenging in that it grows in a narrow area between my home and my neighbor's house, and a large portion of the canopy was resting on my neighbor's roof. I watched as they strategized each move to remove the branches that were resting on my neighbor's house while preserving as much of the canopy as possible. The cuts were beautifully made, and unlike other tree companies that just prune, this crew is always conscious of holistically pruning to keep the tree healthy. They also expertly installed three cables in the red maple. The whole crew is well trained in safety techniques, and they take no shortcuts. They took the time to ease each pruned limb down to the ground with extreme care, never hitting my home, my neighbor's home, or the suspended wires in the area. They left my yard in immaculate condition. You can count on a detailed estimate with prices that are more than fair and excellent communication throughout. I can't tell you how many tree care companies I have hired over the years since I have been the volunteer caretaker of the 7-acre Mt. Washington Cemetery for 38 years and I arrange for all the tree work there, but I can't recommend any other tree care company as highly as Simple Thanks.
