I was first introduced to this chiropractor from an advertisement I got in the mail, shipped to my house. It was for a free examination (valued $125) to determine how bad my back problems were and to make a plan for chiropractic care.
Let me just say, his office has like 20 plaques for different schools and awards covering his entire walls. He seems pretty legit and it's the most plaques I've ever seen anywhere in one room!
I have cervical radiculopathy and have been suffering from severe sharp pain, numbness, tingling, muscle ache, joint pain and nerve pain with severe inflammation of my shoulder and neck for a year and a half now. I have tried everything from creams, lidocaine patches, muscle relaxants, painkillers of all kinds, antiinflammatories of all sorts, steroid injections, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, vitamin b supplements, healthier diet change (more fruits & veggies ), neck & arm braces, bed rest, acupuncture, physical therapy for 3 months, and the list goes on and on...
He was extremely professional and seemed to genuinely care about my condition. He listened to everything I had to say and explained my condition (as no doctor ever had yet). We setup a careful plan to see him three times a week until my widespread inflammation went down around my neck and shoulder.
His secretaries are very polite and sweet. They listen and try to schedule or reschedule anytime you need (just call in ahead of time). There are like 4 different ones but they're all very nice.
Generally, my pain only my right side- wrist, thumb, index & middle finger, back of my right shoulder blade, & neck. So I come in, he puts ice packs on my neck and shoulder. Then 5-10 minutes later he uses an ultrasound and rubs mineral ice all over my neck and back of my shoulder. Then he cracks up and down my back. Once he actually had me lay on my side and he cracked my lower back (it felt amazing!). Then I flip back over onto my stomach and he cracks my neck (both sides). Afterwards (and sometimes before) he rubs my neck little then grabs a towel and wraps it around my neck and begins pulling it backwards - this stretching & pulling feels great on my neck! Then he puts ice packs back on my neck and ices me for another 5-10 minutes. Lastly, he cracks my finger (esp. my thumb) and wrist (a few times I asked him to crack my right ankle and toes), then he rubs mineral ice all over the painful areas.
The visit usually lasts anywhere from 30-60 minutes and afterwards I always feel amazing - less sharpness of pain and less inflammation pain. I don't know if it's pseudoscience or if it really works, but so far he's done wonders reducing my widespread inflammation. I've only seen him 11 times but I feel less tingly sharp prickley pain around my shoulder and neck. I'm also regaining more rotation flexibility to my neck.
Sometimes I come in and he talks a lot to me, I almost feel like I'm in psychotherapy. But it's nice, he really cares about his patients. He always asks how you're doing and how you're feeling, how my family is and so on. Makes me feel at home!
The best part is I don't have health insurance and he charges only $30! Most of my friends say that its super cheap and so far it's been worth it! read more
