This CIBC branch has been at the northeast corner of Broadview and Danforth Avenues for ages. Frankly, this corner has stayed intact over the years, with Pizza Pizza diagonally across from it.
This branch opened in 1914 and continues to endure. It has always been a CIBC bank.
My best friend used to live and work in this area. She has always banked with CIBC. We came here together one time years ago. She needed to withdraw some money.
Coincidentally, we met up with a high school friend who was a teller here. Small world!
I'm normally in the area these days when I take in some concert or performance at Danforth Music Hall. I typically park on Broadview or in the parking lot behind Broadview subway station, which is next to this bank, and walk past it.
I like this building. It's classically styled and is triangular. The architect was V.D. Horsburgh, who designed many bank buildings across Canada for CIBC.
What's cool about this branch is that it's a Toronto heritage building as of 1976.
This building is in decent shape. There are a few steps if you enter and exit the main door that faces the intersection. If you require an accessibility entrance, this bank has a ramp that faces Broadview Avenue.
This bank has two ATMs. This branch is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
