There being so many Credit Unions picking one was not easy, I finally landed on this one in particular only because my family was already backing with them. This is a Ukrainian Credit Union that was established to meet the needs of this community, however, you don't actually have to be Ukrainian to bank here. The staff here are very friendly, I actually have only need to come in to the brands a few times as everything can be done online. Plus the nice thing is that they are open on Saturdays, which has been quite convenient for me. I realize that credit unions may not be for everybody, however, this one is pretty good. With great customer service, convenient hours on weekends, and online backing so you never need to see no one's faces ever! Unless you want.

Plus, as I found out later, I have the opportunity to get an iPad for free if I open an account with RBC. I visited RBC Bank at Bathurst & Cedarcroft and employee Dylan Eni opened an account for me. After I started using my account and completed all conditions to get the iPad, I did not receive any email about it. Therefore, I asked directly the person who opened the account for me. He told me that my bank account is different type and does not belong to the iPad offer. Nonsense because exactly he was opening this account for me and on that time I told him that I want iPad. After that I felt myself brazenly deceived and decided that I do not want to deal with this bank anymore. Decided to close all my RBC accounts and credit card account and open an account with another bank. Actually, I did just that. The credit card's limit was low (it was either $300 or $500 initially), but it was my first credit card and I felt like I was an adult! To make a payment on my credit card, I had to visit a TD branch to pay with the help of a teller. It was before telephone banking came into the picture. After class, I would walk over to the TD branch that used to be on the southeast corner of Keele Street and Steeles Avenue West. This branch's old location shuttered years ago. It seems to have been under construction for that length of time ever since. I don't have a clue what's going on. This TD Canada Trust branch opened diagonally across the intersection, on the northwest corner. It looks impressive when you approach it. This branch houses three service divisions in one: - TD Canada Trust - TD Commercial Banking - TD Wealth If you are doing regular banking, this branch does not have a drive-thru. There is plenty of parking around the building and a ramp for those who require a ramp to enter. There are two Green Machine ATMs in the branch, in the lobby area. It's spacious. I do not have any TD products anymore. The relationship between York University and TD was dissolved. I ended up cancelling my credit card, but it helped me establish credit and strengthen my credit history. I pass by this branch often when I am taking backroads home after work. I see both the old and new branches, which makes me both nostalgic and optimistic, respectively. (128)
