Chateau & spa de la commanderie was a great place to stay and relax after a few days in the alps. It was rather expensive, but not outrageous, I would even call it priceworthy.
The restaurant is very popular also for people not staying at the hotel, so you probably need to book ahead. I had not done so and had to drive to town to get food. There was a fridge in the room, so you could improvise and bring some food. The breakfast was included and was good. You can have it inside or outside in the beautiful areas they have.
The hotel has a small outside pool with sun chairs, but the best part is the rather big garden where there are lounge/sun chairs where you can sit and finally finish War and peace as I did.
I tried the massage and I would call the massage itself professional and proper quality. The door to the mens locker room and shower area was very difficult to open, so unfortunately I spent the first minutes of the massage time trying to open it (it was locked) and trying to get in touch with staff by phone to ask if there was special key or something, but they were not so easy to get hold of. And there was no reception or people that were obvious staff at the spa area. The person giving the massage sat inside the main room, but in plain clothes, looking like a guest and did not really make an effort to welcome or help people that came in. The trick with the door was to use all you power and rip the lock up. It feels like you are destroying the lock/door when you do this. read more
