They really take their time grilling each chicken, and in the end it's worth it, even if you do end up waiting. The sauce is the best thing that ever went on a grilled chicken, and you can get it on the side - it's great on the fries too! If you get it to go, you get the sauce in a cute martini bottle, and I've occasionally put it in the fridge to have some more the next day. Parking around there could be tricky, but if you take the first right after you pass the place (with it on your right) you'll find somewhere to park down the street. If you're getting it to take out, call ahead! It'll save you the wait and maybe the hassle of parking.

We stopped in for lunch at 12:30 with a guide to enjoy the traditional amazing cuisine. Luckily we had a Portuguese speaker as there aren't English menus or English speaking waiters-this is traditional food. There was even an old grandma in the kitchen so you know it's authentic. Most of the dishes serve two people although a few can be gotten in half portions. For the table we got 1 order of "duck rice" (don't know the Portuguese name and a half order of cod/potatoes baked in a cream sauce (like scalloped potatoes with cod). Both were delicious and of course some local Vinho verde wine with the meal. If you find yourself in Braga at lunch, be sure and give them a try. We shared plates and it was fairly intimate. So, I don't think my experience is typical, but it is not like these things are not on the menu or in a display either. I had fried stingray and fried colomara? Eel which they normally don't have. I also had fried thin fish snacks which I think are technically fried mackerels although they might be sardines to many Portuguese translated to English translations. The tour went at a good pace but I forgot to take a pic of the front side and avoided looking at my phone to look up stuff to show respect to my tour guide. Not like I am on my phone enough anyway haha. On other review sites, you can find the yellow awning front side and some may have pictures of the Rooster statue right opposite the cafe by the bridge. The fire station used to be adjacent to this cafe and people from there would stop by here to have a snack or a meal. It has become a classic hang out local spot. This is not an area tourists normally would hit, but writing this review could change that one day. It is a local gem and the kind of tour I was going for. The unintentional unforgettable underdog. If only there could a sponsored food show for this part of my Tour- believe me, I looked when I could.
