I think this is the place we went to for Bison steaks. Small place in kind of an off road spot,…read morewith potholes and dirt parking lot. The place is not fancy and basically you walk in and there is the counter and a list of meats on the board and on the walls. Most is frozen and they ask what thickness you want, they go cut it, wrap it and sell it. I liked the straight forward approach, they sell meat not the experience. The selection of meats here is extensive. The bison was very good and you can get your rocky mountain oysters here also.

I stumbled on to this review just by looking up the phone number for Main Street Market. First off…read moreMiss Nunya B if you don't have the courtesy to use your real name you really shouldn't leave a review--especially if it is negative! I see that was the only review for this store and it was submitted in 2013. Nevertheless, I am compelled to write my own review becuase I totally disagree with what Miss Nunya B had to say! Being a small town grocery store definitely is disadvantaged. With smaller customer base they can't be expected to offer as many choices as the big city and can't compete with the big city prices--but they do a darn good job of both! I will argue that driving 30 miles to Walmart to save money doesn't actually do that in consideration of the price of gas, etc. If you shop MSM sales the prices are usually less than the big stores. But price isn't everything...MSM has a GREAT MEAT DEPARTMENT. If you speak directly with one of the butchers I can guarantee you will get the best of what ever you are looking for! They will pick out the very best steaks or roast and you won't be disappointed. The DELI has the best fried chicken in town! And if you call ahead when wanting a big order they will guarantee to have a freshly cooked batch ready when you want to pick it up--never the stuff that has been in the case since lunch! Their meats and cheeses are always fresh and there is always something on sale to choose from. The PRODUCE department is always fresh. They are good to bring in seasonal items with prices very comparable to big stores. Last of all...as a resident of Torrington I love to see all the familiar faces of the employees who work there. MSM provides a lot of jobs and based on how many employees have worked there for a very long time (20+ years) they must treat their employees very well. Yes, I do shop at other stores from time to time--usually for an item that they are not able to get. But Main Street Market is always my go to store for all of my grocery shopping!

The higher management is horrendously awful at his job, doing anything and everything to make it worse for customers and employees alike. Customers are heard complaining on behalf of the employees and yet some how the higher management is still employed. This place is visibly going down hill and the only reason the gm is still employed is because he's blaming it all on his employees.

I asked them to change my drink as it straight up tasted like tap water, and they told me they won't change it as it is a cold brew and it will take time for the color to change, they told me that's how it is... again, I waited a while and no change! It is very rare for me to write reviews on anything, but in this case I wanted to share my experience because you are not getting what you paid for. I am very disappointed and truthfully I won't give this place another try .
