I first met Christy last year when she was at Salon Vert because, after 4 years, it was time to part with my former stylist. The change came 4 years too late. She is absolutely awesome! Christy has since moved into her own studio, and I have gone along with her. When I first met her, I showed her a picture of me and told her how I wanted my hair. I have short and stiff hair, I hate messing with it, and I haven't owned a comb since high school. She totally got it. Her work was perfect. She cut carefully (no clippers) and got the length and "messiness" just the way I wanted. I have been going to Christy for over a year now. Her new place is next to Vons, so parking is easy. Christy is a magician with scissors. Her cuts are consistently great, and she's really got the skills to handle the more technical styles. I've been growing my hair out from a pixie to a messy A-line bob, and the process has not been easy, but Christy has given me the perfect haircut at each stage of growth so that I don't end up looking like Dorothy Hamill. Six months of haircuts later, I am really loving my hair! I also love that she uses the eco-friendly Eufora line... the products are so nice that I've started using them at home. I'm a guy who has no clue about style and hair. Whenever I get my hair cut and the stylist asks "how would you like it?", I just say "make me look good" because honestly I don't know what I'm doing and put my full faith into whoever has the scissors. They're the trained stylists who know what looks good and that's why you go to them, right? I found Christy when I moved to Santa Monica a while back, and have kept coming to her since. She's provided the best haircut answer to "make me look good" that I've found so far in years of dropping that gem. Most importantly, my ex-girlfriend used to consistently gush over how good Christy's cuts were on me every time I came back - totally unprompted and completely genuinely. So she gets the girlfriend seal of approval. As a bonus - she does quick clean-up sessions between cuts (every two or three weeks if you'd like), so your cuts last longer and look better. Why don't more stylists do that? It's genius and worth going to her alone. She's apparently really good with women's hair too, but the male perspective is all I've got. I was a hot mess until I met Christy at Salon Vert a year ago. My hair was a brassy orange, dried ends and crazy long because it hasn't been cut in nearly a year. Christy not only gave me a thorough color consultation, but found the PERFECT blond (I'm a brunette with olive skin) which is not an easy task. She restored my hair back to life! I went to The Lighthouse for the big chop: I had long curly hair but wanted to switch it up with a curly bob. Christy is the best! I went through A LOT of hairdressers before finding Christy. My pre-Christy hair sucked. Other hairdressers never really listened to me or gave me what I wanted. It was so bad that I'd often go 6+ months without getting my hair cut or trimmed at all...just because I hated paying people to give me subpar cuts. I went so long between cuts/trims that one of my previous hairdressers said that my ends felt like grizzy bear fur...no joke, it was that bad! I lived in a perpetual ponytail and hated it. Christy took the time to really listen from day 1 and has given me a fresh, stylish cut each and every time. No more ponytails and no more grizzy bear fur for me! Well add my name to the long list of devoted fans! I truly believe Christy can do anything. Not only because of her talents, but because she really listens and focuses. I have really crummy fine, thin hair. Her cuts are incredible---consistent every time. My hair always looks fuller than it is. She uses the best hair color (Italian) and got the perfect shade for my skin tone (my first visit with her was to correct a botched color done by another stylist in Santa Monica). Christy can do punk, she can do simple--I've seen her do it all. She is extremely accommodating and goes out of her way to please. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I've been going to Christy now for 6 months and could not be happier. She used to work at Salon Vert, but recently moved to her own space a few blocks away. She is really talented. I used to go to barbers because I like it pretty tight on the sides and back. Christy uses scissors and a comb to get it just as tight. She will pretty much do exactly as you ask and really makes sure that you are happy with it. Needless to say, I am done with my barber and its Christy from here on out...
