I was nervous about the purchase, but Steve, who I assume is the owner, made it clear it would be easy to ship back to him in the event it did not work out. He worked with me to arrange shipping pick up at my home. (I did have to pay for shipping of course, but that is the decision I made when I purchased the painting.) Anyway, all I can ask of a gallery owner is to be easy to work with, responsive, and not guilt trip me if something doesn't work out. This gallery delivered. I highly recommend if someone is looking for contemporary art.

It feels like a hidden gem since they don't really advertise--you just happen to walk in. The vibe is great right away, with the artist's music playing and a relaxed, creative atmosphere. I expected the animal paintings to be traditional Western art, but they're actually modern, bold, and really unique. The photography by a different artist is also stunning--ethereal, dreamy, and gorgeous. Definitely one of the coolest little galleries to discover in Santa Fe. They do not allow video's or photographs in the gallery but I asked if I could share a few pics because I was so taken with the gallery! Just an incredible must see when in Santa Fe

One of our favorite things is walking Canyon Road and touring the lovely art galleries. We have dreamt of, one day, owning for ourselves some of the many exquisite works of art that have fired our imaginations. Today, we found ourselves in GF Contemporary. We had been there in previous visits and discovered the extraordinary works of Pascal Piermé but had not ever seriously considered taking one home. This trip we could not pass up the opportunity to finally purchase two of his works, Attitude 1 and Attitude 5. Deborah Fritz is so kind and pleasant. Like us, she is genuinely enthused about Piermé's work. She was ever patient as we mulled over the many pieces, asked questions, and had her put this piece with that, hold one above the other, etc etc. She has an easy way about her. We never felt pressured to buy. In fact, Deborah seemed to be caught off guard when I said, "We'll take them both!" We are so excited to own these works of art and cannot wait to place them in our home. Thank you, Deborah! We heartily recommend Deborah Fritz and GF Contemporary!!

Well I have to say that it may be Korean abstract art, but it screams "art school dropout". Hey look! There's a predominate brown smudge and a squiggly line! Hey look! The background whites look like the linoleum in my grandmother's bathtub! This could be one of the worst exhibits I've ever seen in my entire life. I was told by people in the know to avoid this show because of the "non objective art", but that only peaked my interest, and thank the Canyon Road Gods that NuArt Gallery has FREE PARKING in the back... Smudge smudge... Squiggly line... White or off-white background... Soo 1992 San Francisco chic... Names of each painting that reek of baby words like, "Ogo", "Sim-Sim", and the incredibly inane ""Gago"... I'm surprised that diapers weren't included! The best part of the entire gallery show is the fact that two of the paintings, "Ogo" and "No Sori" are already sold with a collective asking price of over $23,000!!! Holy crap! There's a sucker born every minute! The staff people at NuArt were great. They must be commended for their poker faces when it comes to explaining the contemporary aspect of this show... If I was their boss, I'd give them a raise. Oh yes, and no free WiFi, which dings this show a star in my book. I will say that this show must be seen to be believed. Ouchie!!!
