This was my first experience at the haistylist in Switzerland…read more
First of all you have to know I'm very peculiar with my hair. I like to change styles a lot, but at home I was faithful to my hairstylist for many many years. So for my first visit I was cautious. I looked for a place where I could explain what I wanted in english and I even brought a picture of MYSELF showing clearly the style that I wanted. She got to work, and somewhere in the middle of the Haircut I asked how much it would cost to replicate the color in the picture as well, at the time I had an emo haircut on my original dark brown hair, with thick platinum and platinum green highlights + black lowlights.
I know that might not be the easiest style to work on, but when you are paying a senior stylist about a hundred francs for the cut alone, the very last words you expect to hear are "it's not possible". I was a bit startled, to honor the truth. So I asked if she could just do a basic blond all over. And I got the same three word answer again.
I was not satisfied with my haircut either. I clearly asked for an emo style and I walked out of the place looking like a soccer mom: short, plain, even... very very boring. If that's what the senior stylist does, I wonder about the juniors.
So, if you need a stylist and all you want is a basic "hair school" haircut, this is probably a good place. Anything beyond that, it would be better to look elsewhere.
P.S. After this experience I went back home to my trusted hair guy. He did a wonderful all over platinum blonde with blue highlights, black lowlights and a magnificent rockstar mane. Guess what? It was possible after all!
