I had a horrible experience here in fall 2014. I attended a Bible study with a friend of mine. My…read morefriend is a musician and he had played several services at the church prior to my visit. He had been promised payment for his musical services, and he never received it. Upon my visit, he attempted to have a calm, quiet word with the pastor and he was avoided. The pastor said he couldn't talk to him before Bible study. During, Bible study, the pastor's son approached my friend sitting on the church bench with balled up fists and asked if he had a problem and needed to "step outside". My friend ignored him. When the Bible study was over, the pastor slipped out through a private door and his helpers told my friend that he would be out shortly. The pastor's son attempted to ignite a disagreement with my friend by saying, "You look like you got something to say to me. What you got to say?" My friend said that he had no issue with him and simply wanted to talk to the pastor. The pastor's son then kept asking my friend if he wanted to "step outside" in a threatening and menacing tone. He raised his voice and walked up in my friend's face as if he wanted to fight. After waiting at least a half-hour, it was pretty clear that the pastor did not plan to come and speak with my friend. We left and by the time we were a block away, the police pulled up to the church and went in to talk to the people inside. I think the people at this church attempted to draw my friend into a physical altercation and called the police in advance, in order to blame my friend for a fight when the cops showed up. I could not believe the way that my friend was treated all because he asked to have a conversation about back pay. To this day, he has never received payment for the church services he was hired to play for.
