I was doing a little price shopping on a 50 foot Furuno Mast Cable for an older Furuno 1730 system. At first the attendant thought I mentioned the Power cable, yes that little 12 volt connector..... She went through a long dissertation on how expensive it was, about $150 in parts and 2 hours labor, yes that's right $350 dollars...and said with a straight face. God they think we are stupid!
At this point I knew I was in for a ride....i said "no, I need the mast cable", again the price research (these were/are $250 when new), now discontinued but that can be made from simple cable kits from Furuno. She came back and said $800! Are you F--------kidding me? and with a straight face as well!. Fyi, the same cable can be bought from one of their Furuno Competitors in New Bedford, MA for $350...the solder can be done in 1 hour, maybe 30 minutes longer
Just had to call this Company out who obviously has no respect for customers and thinking we were all born yesterday. In my view, they don't deserve to be in business! Watch out folks.... read more
