This place was recommended to me by a friend whos hair is always on point. Clean, tight and precise. So I decided to come here and give this place a try. I walked in on a wednesday afternoon, and they were busy, with about 4 different people getting their hair cut. It was nice that Josh could fit me in right away. He asked me what kind of a cut I wanted, and I asked for a tapered fade with the top evened out. He gave me his input as well, since I normally just do a buzz cut at home. It was about a 30 min process. It was very thorough, using various tools from a straight edge, to scissors to clippers. And at the same time, different people were constantly coming in for their appointments. I would highly recommend making an appointment prior to visiting. I just lucked out I guess. Atmosphere is that of an old school eclectic barbershop with the news playing in the background. Quality of the haircut is top notch and the price reflects that with the haircut being $25 and an additional $10 tip. But I did recieve a lot of compliments tho at work, with many people commenting on how good it looks. And if I do say so myself. Josh did a fantastic job!!. Lisa is still my go-to shave specialist. She gives you the works-- hot towels and straight razor. She can handle a razor like nunchucks so it happens quick and close! Give her a try, you will be happy if you like a traditional old style shave. But don't get it twisted it's not your pops shop. I am not usually one to post a negative Yelp review but I am so disappointed in this business. My fiancé works nights and needed a haircut. I offered to make the appointment for him since he's usually asleep when businesses are open. When I called to schedule the appointment I asked for someone who specializes in men's long hair and was told they had a woman named Julia who would be great. I asked for a 4pm appointment on Thursday or Friday- intentionally trying to avoid the latest appointment when stylists might have somewhere to be, but also late enough that a night shift worker could get some sleep. The person I talked to said Julia was only available at 3:30 or 5. She was very dismissive when I tried to ask about other days with other options and I ultimately made the appointment for him at 5. He woke up early on one of his few days off and drove to the barber shop only to be told that his appointment was with someone named Josh. Then when Josh took him back, he told him that he didn't do long hair. My fiancé mentioned again that his appointment was supposed to be with Julia, only to discover that Julia was sitting in a barber chair next to him, on her phone, while Josh was telling this him he couldn't do long hair. When Julia got asked directly to take the appointment I can only assume was hers, she just said she had somewhere to be. I can't believe a business that thrives on customer service would employ anyone willing to be that dismissive of a customer. Scheduling issues arise, but you should at least have the courtesy to look up from your phone and apologize when the business and not the customer created the problem. read more

AWESOME JOB GUYS! We took our 2,3,5 year old boys in today and the guys did such excellent work, we have had such a hard time finding a good place that 1. Is patient with kids and 2. Takes their time, and doesn't butcher their hair. Make an appointment! Our son Charlie had the WORST haircut from another barbershop, he literally looked like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Josh assessed the situation spent a descent amount of time on the cut and Charlie looks like a new man! Awesome job JOSH! Johnny took care of our little guy Johnny (same name) who is 2 and squirmy. Joe has been cutting my boys' hair for about a year now. He is quick but also patient with them and knows their hair so well. He remembers how my husband and I like their hair cut but he always asks us to make sure. My older son has changed it up a few times and each time it comes out great. Over priced and doesn't worth it! Very poor attention to details, Isaiah did my hair cut, I'm talking about simple things that should have no mistakes at all such as a straight clean neck and at least sideburns with the same length and thickness which unfortunately wasn't. The guy didn't even bother him self to ask how I want my sideburns or if he should cut my beard or simply blend in. He did what works better for him with out asking! Finding a go to barber shop is always a challenge, but Chops Barbershop is a solid spot. I've gotten a haircut from almost everyone (Josh, Jon, Aaron, Julie, Tracy, Richard) at some point. All of them give pretty good haircuts, definitely better than almost any Supercuts, Sports Clips, etc. In my opinion, it's always good to show your barber a picture of what you want rather than try to describe it. Unfortunately, the price has gone up over the years and is now at $21+tip these days. Also, they sell various products like Sauvecito and Aqua/Gentleman's Republic hair gels. My only complaint is that, even with an appointment it can get backed up at times making wait times a little long but really that can happen anywhere. Overall, it's a very clean barbershop where you can always expect a good haircut, just be sure to make an appointment. TLDR; solid barbershop, $21+tip for haircuts. read more

How are you going to say walk-ins are welcomed I show up and I'm told I can get an appointment at 3 or 4 and it's 1:30 if thats the case you should say hair cut by appointment only. A walk-in means I should be able to get a hair cut and beard trim within a reasonable wait time.
