I stopped here with my wife and her family on a recent visit to Brazil. This place is fun. The beer goes down like water, easy tasting. I preferred their light to their dark beer, which is unusual for me. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared them: Meat and cheese plate, fried cod, picancha with onioins (very delicious) and fries. It's definitely a bit touristy but the local Brazilians seemed to be having a good time as well. Wait staff was very attentive. They work here forever, too. Our waiter had been here for something like 30 years. The bill came to about$125.00 US, which isn't bad for four of us with lots of beers and includes the tip as Brazil adds this as a service charge. I'd have estimated it at closer to $150-170 US so I was pretty happy. All in all a good experience. I know this city isn't exactly a top tourist spot for Americans but if you are here, hit up the Pinguim and make sure it's the original one, not the one in the mall. read more
