At that time, my husband and I were considering buying, but we knew we weren't quite ready yet. We set up an appointment with Erica to discuss the home buying process - all the various steps, what we could expect, and how we could prepare ourselves to qualify for the best possible financing options. She connected us with a fantastic lender and made it clear that she would be there for us whenever we were ready. Fast forward a little over a year. With some guidance from our lender, we had saved for a down payment and were finally ready to start looking for properties. After another call where we talked about our wants and needs for our next home, Erica guided us to neighborhoods and properties that were appropriate for us, but also advised us to wait a little longer for inventory to improve. Because of her wisdom, we knew not to become discouraged, and when it came time to make an offer, we were more than ready. Our offer was accepted right away! Erica was also an amazing supportive presence throughout the escrow process. As first time home buyers, we were anxious and hyper vigilant, asking numerous questions about every detail. Erica patiently answered each question and never once made us feel like we were asking stupid questions or bothering her. She talked us down off the ledge more than once, ha! She also advocated for us with the seller and seller's agent. How comforting to know that we had someone on our side who knew what she was doing and was looking out for our best interest. In short - if you're looking to buy a home, especially as a first time home buyer in the cutthroat LA real estate market, look no further than Erica. She is the BEST!!

We spent over 3 months of weekends looking at homes until I found my place. In fact, the only reason I have my wonderful home is because he encouraged me to put in a backup offer on a home I saw online that was pending. Without getting into too much detail about our specific situation, do NOT work with them if you want an agent and a team that's great at setting expectations, communication, providing education to first-time buyers, and fighting for what you deserve. If you're looking for someone to just close on a home, then feel free. The only reason why we are giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they helped us close on our house. So a summary of what happened to my husband and I- we signed a deal with the seller which included the appliances in the home (refrigerator, stove, dish washer). My husband and I were unable to attend the inspection, so Meghan said she would be there on our behalf, but she had failed to catch that the refrigerator was missing. Nonetheless, the inspection was completed, and my husband and I were moving along the escrow process at her urging, none the wiser. When we did our final walk through it was US that noticed our fridge was missing. In fact, Meghan tried to argue with us when we said that we were supposed to have a refrigerator. We had to prove it to her by pulling up the MLS photos. So she contacted the listing agent, and we were told that it would be replaced by the seller before closing. There was a LOT of back and forth (I'll spare you the dirty details), but a fridge was installed before closing, although it was not the same one, and it was broken. It was SO broken that we had water leakage and damage to our new floor. Unfortunately the damage was not found until after we received the keys. We immediately contacted both Meghan and Athena, and we had hoped that they would've been a little more helpful in communicating with us how to handle such a situation, being first-time buyers. Meghan and Athena made it clear time and time again that they were only responding to our frustrated questions as a favor, and that they were not contractually obligated to get back to us or help us at all since the deal was already signed, even though this was partly their fault. If you're looking for someone to just help you close on a house, then she's totally capable. But if you're a first-time buyer, look some place else. Get someone with more experience who isn't just trying to push the close. A buyer's agent is supposed to represent the buyer, and go to bat for them. Once the fridge situation occurred, we were not supported and were given canned responses about how bad they felt, etc etc, but it never seemed like they were doing anything about it. It took us getting in contact with the listing agent directly for anything to happen- and we got a new fridge in 48 hours.

The two reviews for Janet Jung aren't about her -- read the names referenced!…read more Janet represented me for leasing and was unprofessional, a poor communicator, too often unavailable because of travel, provided a handyman who did damage to expensive light fixtures and a horrible job of painting (and oh, how she bragged about him, how "popular" he was, inferring I was lucky to have his services). Her skill is talking a good game, but there's no walk, only talk. In the end, as the tenants were finalized for the lease, Janet's communication was spotty. And she misrepresented me to the tenants, and the tenants to me, so we cut her out and communicated directly, which cleared up all the trouble she had created through misrepresentation. The impression I have: Janet Jung uses her license to buy investment properties and isn't 'all in' as an agent. She's always leaving town -- once or twice a month during the time she showed my former home for lease -- which is a total lack of commitment in the West LA real estate market. I also used Janet when I purchased that home. She didn't leave a great impression after the purchase, but years later when I wanted to lease the house, I contacted her because at least she was familiar. In reference to the purchase, she counseled me to over bid, which I did. In the long run, over paying didn't matter as much as it would have given the appreciation of local property values, but it says something about her that she was happy to have me overspend my money. I doubt she EVER does that herself when making an investment real estate purchase. How did she get two positive reviews here -- and she has "claimed" her business -- THAT AREN'T ABOUT HER?!? Janet -- these positive reviews aren't about you! Sketchy. I would never use her again for lease, sale, or purchase.

We were greeted by Sandra, (Sandy) Lew, who took us to the conference room & asked what we were looking for. We gave her our wish list & she immediately went to work trying to find our "dream" home. We drove to one location an hour later which had a lot of our preferences. Sandy stayed late to scan her data base even tho her mom was visiting from out of town. She sent us emails later that evening to confirm we had 2 appointments for showings the next day. Both of the showings were great. Each offering different perspectives of living in Marina del Rey. We were extremely impressed with our choices & filled out applications within hours of departing to LAX. Sandy is an absolute gem. She's personable & a very hard worker with attention to detail. It's obvious she loves her work. She's eager to please & will go the extra mile to accommodate her clients. Not like other brokers/Realtors we had contacted during our search who were less enthusiastic and actually challenging to connect with. We highly recommend Sandy Lew for your Real Estate needs in Marina del Rey & surrounding areas.
