Went to my account and someone had a SUBSTANTIAL amount transferred out via zelle to someone I never heard of. I called the number listed to report fraud... busy signal for half an hour . Drove to bank...late morning but no banker available for the rest of the day. Got another number to call, voice bot hell... finally got a live person. Report fraud and lock account...charges still showing pending. A week and a half later I finally find out that Wells Fargo still isn't protecting their customers from fraudulent zelle transactions... something they were sued for in 2024! Fwiw another account was hacked and they had things secured reverses and available in a 20 minute phone call. Wells Fargo says it isn't fraud because it was sent from my device... whether hacked or not. I run antivirus and VPN if that matters. Horrible experience. Avoid at all costa.

I have my doubts that Wells Fargo is still issuing loans, but if you're an existing customer, don't fall behind in your payments. The first thing that will happen if you do is that your phone will start to ring. Then you will be confronted with harassment by their collection department. If you call it harassment, they'll tell you that they have a right to do it because you didn't pay your bills. The second thing you will notice are the fees. Wells Fargo will apply horrendous service charges to your balance and will send you notices on a regular basis notifying you of the ever increasing interest rate they are charging you, all things you were unaware of when you entered into the contract with them. This is possibly because a customer aware of these things from the start would probably get up from the table and walk away. I wish I had.
