We have never had any issues with the staff at Milestone. All 3 of my kids along with my nephew are very vocal and have strong personalities. They will be the first the tell us if they got in trouble, if the teacher told them not to do something, etc. My kids absolutely adore the teachers there and loved attending. I have been by to pick them up or drop stuff off to my kids at various times during the day and have never witnessed anything inappropriate. The staff goes above and beyond to communicate with my husband and I whether it's an illness my kids are experiencing, a new project they completed, an upcoming holiday party, or to simply just share pictures. If my kids are out of school for an extended period of time due to illness or vacation they always reach out to check on them or even just to say they miss us. At a very young age my kids were taught how to read, write, count, and learn many other skills most kids learn during or after kindergarten. My kids' teachers at their new school always talk about how advanced and smart my older 2 kids and my nephew are. I'm grateful to the staff for the wonderful education and care they provide.

Milestone Academy Preschool is a great school to enroll your toddlers!…read more A few of my co-workers had their kids enrolled here and they were the ones who recommended me to enroll my kids. My daughter Taylor started Preschool here when she was 2 years. At first, she was very shy but the teachers are very warm and welcoming, which made Taylor feel very comfortable. By the time she graduated Taylor was very outgoing. Here she learned her ABCs, numbers, simple addition, and singing various songs. I was surprised that they even teach science. I am very pleased with the education that my daughter received here. Mrs. Lim is very accommodating. They even have option to potty train your child. Taylor was able to potty train with the help of the teachers. I like that the location is close to my home and the hours are reasonable. The tuition is also reasonable. My second daughter is now enrolled here as well.

Our family lives in San…read moreFrancisco and happened to stumble across Mrs. Janet's school after a very long and frustrating search for the right school for our son. At his previous school, our son wasn't learning much and could hardly hold a pencil. After a few months at Janet's, we noticed a significant difference. He was not only holding a pencil; he was writing his full name, sounding out letters, and able to add and subtract, and after a year he was reading! Some other added perks are that she also cooks multiple healthy meals a day that your child will actually eat and love. She keeps the inside as well as the outside of the school immaculately clean. Our son hardly ever got sick while he was in Janet's care. Our son started kindergarten this year and was more than prepared and excited to start school. He is actually ahead of the curriculum and thriving, and this is all thanks to Mrs. Janet! I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a preschool/childcare for their little ones. Janet and her team are amazing; we miss them all very much, and we will be forever thankful to have had our son attend such a wonderful school!

Miss Janet is FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, LOVING, INSPIRATIONAL and a LIFESAVOR!…read more Our Grandson has been attending Janet's Montessori since last September. It was a difficult transition for him since he had no formal schooling prior to this. In fact, this was his first separation being away from his parents. Miss Janet and her staff were patient, loving, nurturing and supportive. Here are a few things you should know if you're considering enrollment: 1) The children are constantly supervised in the house and schoolyard. The place is secured with an adult at all times. The backyard is set up with perfectly for the littles ones. Bright, colorful and cheery. 2) The school is sufficiently supplied with learning materials, and follows through with a structured program. They also have music, exercise classes and story time, learning songs, dance movements and educational sessions. 3) It is preferred if your child is potty-trained but if not, Miss Janet and Staff works with your child. Proof is with my Grandson!!! 4) They are taught to be responsible, listen to instructions and directions. Never saw a child out-of-line. Miss Janet is firm but does it with love and positive reinforcement. 5) If your child is a picky eater like ours, they'll learn to love the homemade meals prepared for by Miss Janet. The meals are healthy and has helped develop tastebuds. 6) Holidays and birthdays are always festive. Miss Janet even has programs set up for the Parents to enjoy including Graduation ceremonies. 7) I have come by to pick up our Grandson at lunchtime a number of times and the children are in TOTAL control. There's no yelling, screaming or disorder. 8) If there is an outbreak of illness, Miss Janet notifies the families and immediately sanitizes everything. For months, my Grandson cried in the mornings because he missed his parents, but there was Miss Janet, nurturing with her arms extended and he went right to her. She even came out of her house once morning because she heard him crying 2 houses away!! Miss Janet is an Angel and as a Grandmother, I wish somebody like her was around for my daughters at this age. She prepares them for TK & Kindergarten. How does she manage with 10-12 kids at a time?? I have no idea but she must be doing something right because whatever she does, IT WORKS!!! Our Grandson will be moving on to TK and I must say, it'll be sad to see him leave such a beautiful and intimate setting with filled with love. My wish is that another child may be as fortunate to be a student under Miss Janet's care. She's amazing and a great blessing to many children, parents AND Grandparents. If you're trying to find something more affordable, please keep in mind that old adage...."You get what you pay for"....and we got our monies worth and more from Miss Janet and her staff. They're worth every penny. Thank you to Miss Janet, for being such a special stepping stone for our Grandson! YOU and your fantastic staff made success happen for him. WE LOVE MISS JANET!!!

Upgrades: The school has been upgraded a bit since my daughter was here which is fabulous. There's new play structures, new furniture, revolving imagination role play section, tons of new books and toys. Parent Involvement: The parents are just as involved as they were back in my daughter's village days too. It truly is just like having your friends watch your kid(s). Parents prep snacks, supervisor play areas and do projects. The creativity of parents is amazing - the help to come up with new snack ideas and projects is also amazing for those that aren't as creative. For snacks, the kids have had pancakes, DIY parfait cups, cold press juices and smoothies (made during project and tasted during snack time!)and delicious banana scones. Projects have been everything from cutting fruit for snacks to self portraits New "Friends": Our son refers to his classmates as his "best friends" and looks forward to seeing them every school day. He carried around his class photo pointing and telling us the names of each of his new friends. Field Trips: The monthly field trips are a great way to get out of the classroom. We've gone to the SF Zoo, a fire station, a rodeo, a pumpkin patch, the library, aquarium and even did a grocery store scavenger hunt! It's such a treat when the parents have just as much fun as the kiddos.

I'm confident that my child will be ready for Kindergarten this fall and all the friends he's made at Latchkey will carry on since it's attached to the elementary school. Tuition is very reasonable for the Bay Area ($1,515 per month at the time of this posting), and lunch/snacks are included. Hours are great for working families, basically the whole day from 7am-6pm. The facilities, which are two bungalows, seem to be on the older side, however, they do keep it tidy and feels homey. If you're in Daly City and looking for an affordable and family run preschool, Latchkey is the way to go! I will definitely send my second kid there once he's old enough.

The caterpillars class is basically a TK, and I love hearing all the things my son learns and am impressed with the school projects. It's my son's 3rd year there and I think he will be very well prepared for kindergarten next year. Also, the hours are very convenient from 7:30am and open all the way to 6pm. All of the teachers are wonderful and very loving. They even take kids who aren't potty trained yet. I love how they celebrate special events, like holidays. They did very special events for mothers and Father's Day with performances and art by the kids, and a lunch for parents and kids. I love that the director lets me help out for the Halloween and Christmas and Easter events. Community workers month allowed parents to give presentations about their jobs, and the kids looooved this! This is just a few examples. It's just such a great school! There is a monthly newsletter, and weekly email with day by day syllabus, parent teacher conferences, end of week emails from the teachers with photos . It is very structured, but they make learning fun. Also - it was super important to me that the school feels safe and secure, and that the playard is not visible from the street. Early Learning Academy checks these boxes. The outdoors play areas are much bigger than other schools I had toured, but most importantly are private - passersby cannot see the children when they are playing outside. The director Ms. Veronica is very responsive and kind. She and the teachers are very patient. I love hearing from her about funny things my son does and who he plays with. It's also a nice parent community, especially as now that my son is 4, there are play dates and parties. I will cherish the experiences and memories that this school helps us make.

Ms. Veronica has truly given me confidence that my son will be ready for kindergarten at their sister school, Hilldale. In the 10 months she has been here, she has learned and grown so much, and most importantly, she has made so many wonderful friends and built such special relationships with her teachers. We are truly very sad to leave. Genius Learning has been such an important part of her early childhood, and we could not have asked for a better place for her to begin her preschool journey. We were recently offered a placement at a preschool that we have been waitlisted for for three years. While it was an extremely difficult decision, this opportunity also provides a pathway that will help her have access to her future elementary school's after-school program--something her older brother was unfortunately unable to get into despite trying for three years. Because of that, we ultimately felt that we had to make the difficult decision to transfer her. This was not an easy choice, especially because of how happy she has been at Genius Learning and how much we have loved being part of the community. We truly appreciate everything the teachers and staff have done for her over the past 10 months. They provide full-day coverage (until 5:55 PM), have a very reasonable holiday schedule (which, as a working parent, I deeply appreciate), and serve hot lunches every day. I'm so sad to be parting ways with Genius Learning. We're moving to the lower peninsula, and my older child is entering TK. Those are the only reasons we're leaving. We've toured many private immersion schools in the city, and the funny thing is that the more expensive they are, the more days they're closed. What are parents supposed to do? The hot lunches alone remove a huge logistical burden for families. They don't use Brightwheel or seem to invest heavily in marketing, which I suspect helps keep costs down for parents. They still share photos through LINE, so you stay connected and see what your children are doing throughout the day. My children have never resisted going to "school." At their age, there's only honesty, so I think that says a lot about how they feel about the environment. They leave happily in the morning and come home happily at pickup. Academically, I've been extremely impressed. My 4-year-old is now writing Chinese, and I want to emphasize 'writing' Chinese. He comes home talking about 偏旁部首 (Chinese radicals). We recently traveled to Yunnan, and my son saw some farmers and commented, "他们在粒粒皆辛苦". I immediately texted the principal because I was so thankful and amazed. It wasn't just that he was speaking Mandarin. It was the vocabulary, the sentence structure, and his ability to express empathy and observation in another language. The children also practice numbers, the alphabet, and both uppercase and lowercase letters. I feel that he's well prepared for TK. At home, he speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and the school environment has tremendously reinforced his language development. While it's a Mandarin immersion program, some of the children speak English as well, and I don't mind that at all. Heidi, the principal, is incredibly responsive whenever parents have questions or concerns. The teachers are wonderful and provide exactly what we were looking for during these important early childhood years. The school feels like an extension of home. I trust that the teachers truly have my children's best interests at heart. Some of the teaching assistants are Cantonese-speaking, so there's occasionally a language barrier for me, and I'm sure it's even more challenging for some other parents. That said, you simply can't replace the love and care they show the children every day. And then there's Teacher Anna. Every child seems to adore her. I honestly don't know how she does it. My son tells her, "I love you," and he barely says that to his mama! I've heard the same thing from other children. When she leaves for the day and walks to her car, the kids rush to the window, excitedly waving and shouting goodbye. That kind of love and connection can't be taught. It's a testament to the warmth, dedication, and care she brings every single day. We'll miss Genius Learning dearly, and we're incredibly grateful for the role it has played in our children's early years.
