Chiquitos in Norwich is located on the Riverside, with rear windows facing the banks of the River Wensum. The atmosphere of the restaurant is undeniably warm, with dark and light wooden furnishings, hispanic music, and a colour scheme of earthen and warm colours found from the ceiling to the floor.
Prices can be accommodating, as there is a lunch meal menu, and a student saving scheme, for those in higher education. However, a price hike, and redesign of menu items has been noticeable, compared from 2012 to 2013. The attempt to espouse higher dining has taken away from the familiar feeling of the place, akin to being at a friend's place - from the white corporate menu, to the perfect geometrical plates.
Meals range from spicy South American offerings, to blander USA-style creations, leaving no customer wanting for variety, and while deserts used to be more diverse, classics such as churros and brownies with ice cream never fail to please. The wine menu is typical of a chain restaurant, but the choice in cocktails is incredible.
Service at this branch of Chiquitos is quite varied. Mostly the experiences have been utterly positive, with many members of staff being forthcoming with regards to saving schemes and the likes, or incredible attentiveness without being interruptive.
