My room on the sixth floor overlooks the highway, so I wasn't inclined to keep the curtains open in daylight. Other con is the half wall of glass in the shower...first your behind will get COLD as you gave the showerhead -- closing the sliding separator door, which hides a closet, doesn't help because there's very little heat in the bathroom (bring slippers). There was enough water outside the half wall for me to have to use a bath towel to dry the floor. I also somehow locked the sliding door and had to FaceTime by BF on how to get out of the bathroom. Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful and they are the main reason I'm giving this hotel a great rating.

I communicated with the front desk and was told they would make it up to me on my next stay. WELL, let me tell you! I stayed there a few days ago, as I had received notice of my citizenship ceremony and had to drive in from the US. When I opened the door of the room I was given my mouth dropped! A beautiful suite! King size bed, jacuzzi tub, 2 large tv's, fridge and microwave! I was not expecting this at all, didn't even know this room existed! They made sure I had everything I needed and more! They assisted in helping me scan documents that needed to be sent back as a completion of my ceremony. It was so beautiful and I was so exhausted I stayed another night, I can't tell you what this did for my piece of mind. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was supportive and happy for me, honestly felt like home! A big and special shout-out to Julie at the desk who was there for me from the last stay to this present stay! Best Western is very blessed to have employees like her! I can't wait to return in September!

We were welcomed immediately and they even acknowledged my birthday and left a little gift in the room. The rooms are clean and inviting, although the bathrooms a tad small. They had nice products of you don't bring your own. I personally loved the hand lotion. The water pressure when showering was also nice and rare. They had gogglecast if you want to use your own streaming on the TV (however I could not get it to work for me) They had a beautiful pool area with saunas and a nice gym on the bottom floor. We tried both options for food. The lobby bar was fantastic. Our server was very friendly. (I'm trying to find her name and unfortunately I cannot find the receipt but she was serving on both October 29 and 30th). I had steak frites with a really good chimichurri sauce. And I love the flavor of the french fries. For my drink, I had a cosmopolitan, but I usually switch out the vodka for tequila. She poured this drink to the book and it was perfect. The downstairs restaurant was a disappointment. The food was not as described and very lackluster. We are both ordered the scallops and while it looked nice it just didn't hit the mark. The drinks were even worse. My friends drink she couldn't even finish It was supposed to be a spicy margarita. Mine what's supposed to be a cosmopolitan but it tasted like fruit punch. It was so sweet. (I can agree we should've said something, when someone has more than half a drink, but they're leaving behind. You would think they would ask if something was wrong) We ended up going back upstairs to the lobby bar. Sadly, the worst part of our stay was the paperthin walls. My friends slept peacefully the first two nights. I had a horrendous last night and of course that was a struggle when we had to waking up early to go to the airport. My first night was the hardest because of noise. Ideally, it's parents that let their children run around the hallways or scream in the rooms that are the problem. I can't hold the hotel accountable, but I did knock on the wall of the adjacent room and immediately heard them telling their child to stop. Overall, I would definitely consider staying there again, but I may ask the front desk if they have a quieter room or floor that they could offer. Because we were traveling for business. It was very long days and the lack of solid sleep as a challenge.

They are 2nd year owners taking over from previous owners that ran it 35+ years. They are so very gracious and to think re-visiting where I grew up "was" going to do a 3 stay hotel in Marysville till I looked up the rates for the Heather and for over the major July 4th the room daily fee was a mere $42.00 more a night and included a no joke "Chef Gordon Ramsey" quality breakfast every morning. We got to see all the rooms being nobody was there yet for that day and it took a few days to see every detail. Pictures don't do enough so to see in person was a treat and every room is decorated it's own way. The place is really quiet also even when other people were around it's just really nice and we didn't hear anything the whole three days there just when people came down for breakfast. You get your own front door key to come and go as you please anytime the front door locks behind you. The A/C in the rooms are perfect and whisper quiet never heard such a quiet unit before no motel ones are like that. TV, internet, every room a bathroom some have a jacuzzi. Bed was high end and so were the sheets and pillows. Everything you need is there to use even a hair dryer on the wall. Lots of storage for clothes and other furniture to sit on besides a bed. Everything antique is just amazing and talk about super clean. Every room has it's own balcony and you can just look out and see the freighters going by in the St. Clair river. That coffee quality is something I never had before and asked them what they use and said we get in Port Huron specially made in a coffee house. Amazing inside that as well but the Heather owners are the best so being the previous owners were awesome for many years, these two young people have a huge reputation to uphold and they are doing just that. Can't say enough about them and the experience staying there. The breakfasts are 8:30 and we chose the front window table for 2 every morning full service facing the river they bring everything to you this is not buffet it's full service included in price. They have a real large table for multiple people to have breakfast also. NEVER had breakfasts like these before that good and so unique and every day is different not repeated. For the rates and what you get who needs a boring common motel that can cost this easily and more most of the time for each night and just maybe get a generic breakfast. The Heather B&B is a hidden treasure and been there so many years. Post this and share comments. People may think a historic B&B is high priced but search rooms by name and rates you'll find this is a bargain and very special.

We stayed 4 days 3 nights for around $375 total PROS : Fairly spacious 1 Bedroom cottage Kitchenette came fully equipped Doors on cottage locked securely Enclosed Porch Super family friendly with lots of outside activities for kids Movie night 2 days a week Walmart and Gas station right up the street Each cottage had a bbq grill (dirty) but they all had one CONS : Super narrow when driving down hill to unload your things into the cottage so turning around can be challenging (especially with the "no driving on grass" signs. You can unload but you have to park in the lot at the top of the hill and walk back down Wifi was not working well so your basically without service most of the time Lots of BEES The bed was really uncomfortable so we slept on the futon in the living room The heat didn't really work so at night and I'm the early morning it would be freezing. Like throw a hoodie on cold They tell you to bring your own sheets and towels But the blanket that's offered is mad thin so I wish I would of brought my own A few of the dishes were dirty and had to be rewashed before use The tv in my auntie cottage couldn't have been bigger then 20inch (my desktop monitor is bigger) mines was a little bigger then hers which she didn't understand because we paid the same amount for our separate cottages Bonfire pit was right off the water, so it was super windy, cold, and water kept splashing us while we were trying to get it lit The furniture in the cabins was pretty outdated not "rustic" ..outdated The cottages need face lifts which is obvious the paint in my bedroom what bubbling and separating from the walls The shower heads OMG the shower heads was just to much for me.. like if I needed to bring my shower head from home as well they could of just said that! lol but no seriously I was so sad taking a "quick" shower it gave me jail flashbacks! I could of came off another star if it wasn't like that. We didn't get much beach time in because it was pretty windy our entire stay and the current in the water was not playing lol Soooo our 3rd day was everyone's else's last day at the cottage so we end up getting our last day all to ourselves, and is being the nosey individuals that we are after they cleaned the rooms we asked if we could check out the other cottages, when I tell you I was sick that 2 of the other ones had real shower heads and better TVs we deemed 1,7,11 the best cottages to stay in (they have 11 total) We stayed in 4 and 6.
