This place used to be terrific. Now, everything tastes the same; salty and garlicky. The Hot and Sour soup is neither hot nor sour. It's more like canned chicken broth thickened with corn starch and a few milligrams of tofu at the bottom. The "Szechwan" Beef is the same sauce as the "Mongolian" Beef, and the Garlic Sauce, etc., etc. Red pepper logos on the menu are supposed to indicate "spicy", but most everything here is now about as spicy as ketchup. Also you get less food, and pay considerably more money than a couple of years ago thanks to Bidenomics, but it's not the same place at all anymore. We moved to Carrollton a few weeks ago. I did my research online for the best chinese food in the area. I'm not sure if they are the best but this is the 2nd place that I have tried and so far they are the best. Great customer service too! We ordered pork fried rice, house special fried rice ( beef, chicken, pork and shrimp),Egg rolls and fried dumplings. Prices are very reasonable and they offer lunch and dinner specials that include pork fried rice. You can also get a 10% discount for to go orders and orders placed over the phone. My pork fried rice was cooked perfect. I didn't have to add any soy sauce which is always a good thing. Egg rolls are good but they are no match when it comes to Vinh Binh in Fort Worth. Dumplings were also very good. I love their dipping sauce. Most places use too much soy sauce but this place does it right. I will definitely be back again soon. Fyi- I originally gave this place 4 stars. I went back a few weeks ago and my experience was not good at all. I got the pork fried rice again and after taking two bites, I threw it in the trash. The fried dumplings were brown on one side but not fried. Unfortunately I will not be back again. I will keep going to Royal Chopstix in Irving until I find a Chinese Restaurant closer. read more

Decided to give this place a try since it was highly recommended. I ordered teriyaki and it was bland, dry and chewy. The beef and broccoli was decent. The lo mein was really good but just by itself. The crab wontons is what really made this meal. They were really tasty and probably the best I've ever had. If it wasn't for this I would have given this place a 2 star. Def get some crab wontons! Overall, I may try this place out again but not really sure when. read more

I am giving a one star review to their online delivery service! I placed an order on their website, payed with my card, and I waited around 45 min for my food to arrive and nothing happened. It was until I called them on the phone to ask where my order is and that's when they barely made the move to have my order delivered. The 'crispy noodles' that come with the soups were stale...disappointing. As I was standing there to place the order the order taker couldn't be bothered - each soup I ordered she was ready to ring me up. It was difficult to place the order. I knew what I wanted but after I said an item she gave me my total - I finally asked if I should come back thinking she was too busy to take my entire order. She said, no. I finished my order and told her I'd be back in the 15 minutes she stated it would take. While they don't have the best attitudes in this place -- this (older) lady was rude and it's inexcusable. If you are a first timer, READ THIS. It will be helpful so you don't feel like an idiot. To keep it simple, the menu is located on the counter near the register. You can dine in, dine out, delivery OR online. I live about a mile away and never opted to do their delivery (I'm not a big delivery person in general). Please, please do call in/order online. Because if you decide to do a carry-out it will take a good 20 mins before your food is ready. Their portion amounts are PLENTIFUL. Now, mind you, I'm Asian and blessed to have authentic home cooked meals almost everyday from my mother - but this place is just as good when she feels like she's not in mood to cook. (Also, only Chinese food I like, is from actual Chinese buffets.) I love their lo mein (any kind, I've tried them all. Beef, shrimps, etc) It is so soft and just rightfully flavored. Their Crab Rangoon is also the best I've had. It's crunchy, the inside is creamy, and flavorful. Even my friend likes it (she's a picky eater - if it sounds weird or looks weird she's very hesitant). I can't seem to have myself try anything else besides the usual fried rice, lo meins, crab rangoon, eggroll. But I know everything on their menu will be delicious. I know it says 1 check in for me, but believe me I've been here multiple times. Their food is hot, like, they JUST cooked it and placed in the containers type of hot, and delicious. In a nut shell: The reviews are all over the map. Chinese food is such a personal preference, mainly due to what you grew up on. My favorite chinese food from my youth will never be matched and I've come to peace with that. So we were willing to give it a shot as it's close to the Baylor Scott and White Carrollton and we were visiting so the math was easy. Both meals we got were a lot of food, but they serve it in the to-go container so that was cool. We ordered....... Sesame chicken with white rice This was ok. Im not going to say it was bad, just that it had a spice in there I did not care for. Almost like chinese 5 spice, something that didnt belong. White rice was sticky and, well.....It's really hard to ruin rice. Generals chicken with pork fried rice which came with two crab rangoon or an egg roll. This General's too had a spice I did not care for. The spice level was almost non existent but it was tenperature hot for a long time. The first bite I took of the pork fried rice was yummy. It had charred bits of onion that almost gave it a little smokey flavor. After the first few bites I wasnt a fan. The pork wasnt super flavorful and something was missing that I couldnt out my finger on. I will say all the food was not the typical salt bomb which was a nice change. The crab rangoon was crispy but the inside was disgustingly sweet. It was as if they added powdered sugas to the cream cheese. Bummed me out because I love my rangoon. Anyway. First, I know this isn't authentic Chinese food so I'm not comparing it to the stuff I grew up eating, so chill. I'm reviewing this to similar Chinese take out joints. I ordered online and was pretty impressed with the reviews as well as the menu. I don't usually order the General Tso's or Orange chicken, etc (although my husband does) but usually judge a Chinese take out place by a two main things: The quality of the hot and sour soup and the quality of the rice. Of course, I pay attention to the freshness of the vegetables and the meat yadda yadda, but if you can't pass my hot and sour soup test and the rice test...If you can't perfect the two staples, forgetaboutit. My husband got the roast pork fried rice while I got the chicken with vegetables with steam rice and the soup. The soup was way too thick and was neither spicy nor sour. Bummer. The steam rice was perfect I must say and they give you plenty of it. My husband thought his fried rice was too dry but I personally liked it because it wasn't greasy and overflowing in soy sauce. My chicken tasted extremely fresh and tender but again, the whole sauce was too thick and lacked flavor. I also asked for hot sauce to go when ordering and didn't get any. read more

Surprisingly, really tasty Chinese take out food! Eaten here twice, the first time delivery and the second take out. The people who answer the phone are really nice and can explain what's in what or modify a menu item if need be (my bf doesn't eat particular veggies). Both times the food is plentiful & had great flavor. The first time, we got beef lo mein w/only carrots & green onions, wonton egg drop soup, & shrimp w/vegetables dinner special. The noodles in the lo mein were cooked just right, not mushy at all and an adequate amount of beef, though heavy on the carrots. My soup had tons of wontons & the shrimp were large and REAL. I mean no small frozen shrimp here. The egg rolls that came with the dinner special were also yummy, hot & crispy. Also, I wanted to add, delivery was really fast. Even though we were told 45 mins our food was at our door in like 15-20 mins. Pretty awesome when you're hungry. The second time, dinner for one. I got seafood delight & wonton egg drop soup (so good I had to get it again :D). When I read the menu, it said that there was lobster in the Seafood Delight and I was thinking. . . .sure, like "fake-pollock-fish-lobster", I was ok with that. But, I WAS WRONG! I opened the container when I got home and lo & behold actual real lobster people! Mind you, it was just a small half of a tail, but still, got to give points for actually putting real lobster in there. Overall, I really like this place. Even though the focus is on american-chinese take out food, they do it really well here. Bad Food, Rude behavior and no idea what customer service is!!! - Order 5 items for the dinner (gave clearly the item no and re-confirmed the order on the phone). Messed up the order and 2 item was completely different and a bad smell coming from and not at all eatable. - Called to complain the next day since we ate a late dinner ( had to manage with other things for kids). The lady on the phone was so rude and was justifying saying that I should have called yesterday and no customer complained. She even hung up on me before I even finished. Sometimes on a Friday/Saturday during peak time, the food is at my house in twenty minutes after they quoted me thirty minutes. Other times, they'll quote forty five minutes and it'll take an 1.5 hours. Their soup is good as is the pork fried rice which comes with the dinner specials. This place is worth trying. read more

Tried lunch specials today. The egg roll was crisp on the outside and very tasty. Too bad they did not include any duck or soy sauce. I got cashew chicken. An enormous amount with plenty of chicken and cashews along with celery, carrot, water chestnuts and a few mushrooms. The sauce was a bit on the bland side but acceptable. Hubby got the General Two's chicken. Again, an enormous amount of food, mostly chicken with just a smidgeon of broccoli. He said the taste was spot on. He also got fried rice which was tasteless, just get the steamed. This is my first time trying China One and I wasn't disappointed! Service was a bit slow, but worth it! My meal was 100% made fresh! I ordered from their lunch menus and expected less food. To my surprise it was a whole lot of food for an exceptionally reasonable price! The quality was good, filling and full of flavor! The egg roll didn't disappoint either. By the time I had taken the picture, I had ate only 1/4 of the entree and 1/2 of the egg roll and still so much remained! I give them 4 stars due to the slow service. I ordered a small Egg Drop Soup, 8 Crab Rangoons, and Shrimp Lo Mein from their website - which was fairly user friendly. Carrollton does not seem to have a TON of options for "classic" Chinese take-out, so despite some of the reviews I decided to give them a chance. Pros: - Delivery was faster than I anticipated (less than 45 minutes) - Food was very warm - almost hot - Big portions - The prices were reasonable: - Less than $5 for 8 rangoons vs some places charge that much for 4 - A $1.00 delivery fee (!!!) - Shrimp was cooked perfectly - Lots of sauces (Although, maybe they thought I was sharing lol) Cons: - Website / email confirmation does not give a delivery time window, which made me a little nervous since I've never order from here - Noodle flavor itself was good, but not the best that I've had I would definitely order from here again and try some of their other menu items.
