China Moon is always fantastic. I've been coming here since I was a kid, so there's definitely some nostalgia, but even without that it's one of the best Chinese takeout spots I've ever been to. The food always comes out fast and is actually pretty cheap for how good it is. I've tried many other Chinese restaurants, but I always come back to China Moon whenever I'm in the area for their beef and broccoli. The service is friendly and helpful, and they still offer a buffet for both lunchh and dinner, something you don't see as much after Covid. The inside of the restaurant was renovated within the last few years and it's a big upgrade from how it used to look. If you're in Crookston, definitely give this place a try. read more

We live in East Grand Forks and we're really craving Chinese food last weekend. We don't really have "good" Chinese options here, so a friend recommended we try China Moon. So grateful for their recommendation, because we never would have found it otherwise. Ordered online, Hubs picked it up and brought it back home. It was still piping hot, even after the half hour drive! And so tasty!! Way better than our options here, so we will definitely be back. For reference, we had Hunan Style Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Veg fried rice, egg rolls, and fried pot stickers. All delicious!! read more

Tonite 11/28/22 - had two house special wonton soup with vegtibles - both of them were lousy. More soup than anything else and weak flavor - last week real good - not tonite - one cook was not there. read more

China Moon offers all the typical dishes that one would expect from a small town Chinese restaurant in the heartland of America. Every time I've ordered from China Moon I've found the food to be adequately prepared and decently seasoned. The portions were generous. It's not gourmet food by any means but should satisfy your hunger and tastebuds if you have a hankering for Chinese food when you are in Crookston. BTW -- I used their online ordering system for my last order. For the most part it works well. My only concern was that if you want to pay with a credit card you cannot do it directly online (and I did not discover this until I pushed the "use card" button). They will then call you for your CC number. If you are OK with giving your CC number over the phone I'm sure it will work fine. But when they call you can switch to paying with cash (which I did). The food was delivered on time, nice and hot. Delivery fee was $2.50 (plus whatever you would like to tip). read more

China Moon is the best place to eat in Crookston in my opinion. The food is amazing. I love the white rice, general chow, and broccoli. The way that they combine chicken/beef with the broccoli is a little strange, but it tastes is surprisingly delicious. Their white rice can be used in all meals, including breakfast! I have it for a snack sometimes, and with a little soy sauce, the flavor is astounding. read more

I've been in love with Chinese food for as far back as I can remember. Spending my life living in New York, Northeastern New Jersey, Boulder, and Portland (Oregon) I've been lucky enough to experience the best the US has to offer. I have had a handful of bad experiences out of the hundreds of restaurants I've visited in these cities, but for the most part I've been very satisfied; in fact, Asia is probably my favorite continent when it comes to food. Despite (or maybe because of) all of the above mentioned experience in the realm of Chinese food, I came to Crookston not expecting to find anything worth putting in my mouth. I've been to China Moon three times now and my expectations have proven valid. I'm not dead and I haven't suffered from food poisoning yet, but I can't describe the feeling I get after visiting China Moon as pleasant. The only chance one has of eating anything warm is by showing up during the first few minutes of the lunch buffet; after that, it's a total crap shoot. They have quite the strange menu and everything seems to be drenched in MSG, which definitely contributes to the shaky, poop filled feeling that I carry down the block. The only other review on here claims that China Moon is the best Chinese food in Crookston. This makes me afraid to try the only other place. read more

The food that was there was good. There website boasts about 22 options and over half of the food trays were empty or almost empty. Very disappointing. The guy behind the counter never got up once to even check if anything needed to be filled. What a waste of money. Have to go elsewhere to eat now cause I'm still hungry. read more

Cleanest red solo cups in town! They have Chinese food here. Pretty standard buffet fare. Not a ton of different stuff, but the staples. Always ready in ten minutes, if you want takeout. Cream cheese wontons are always filled with just the right amount of cream cheese. Etc. read more

China Moon is actually a really good restaurant, and possibly one of the best Chinese places in Crookston. The down side to China Moon is that they're food isn't exactly fresh unless you get there in the beginning if the buffet hours. They only put fresh food out when the dish is empty or close to empty. Some things on the buffet aren't even touched once throughout the whole day. So if you looking for good Chinese buffet food you might want to get the restaurant hours, because the food doesn't taste that good when it has been out there for while. It can also get pretty busy at some times in the day. They also don't except debt/credit cards, just cash or checks. read more
