Cheese pull!! Mozzarella Sticks tossed in Honey-Chipotle Sauce
Sarah N.

Stopped into Chili's Waikele today with my Favorite Son and we're happy to find this location is still as good as we remembered! Thanks to recent Yelp reviews, we came prepared with winter wear - and wow, it was still freezing. Seriously, if you don't tolerate cold well, you may want to request a warmer table (if one exists). I felt like I was sitting in the grocery store freezer/cooler aisle, bomber jacket and all. On to the food! We both ordered the Triple Dipper and shared the ribs. The Triple Dippers were great - hot, fresh, and exactly what we hoped for. The mozzarella sticks delivered an impressive, extra-long cheese pull (the whole reason my son came haha!). He got the honey-chipotle and loved it. The ribs, unfortunately, were the letdown. Flavor was good, but they were very thin and tough like jerky - more bones with sauce than actual meat. Fries and broccoli were solid tho. If the ribs were like they used to be, this would've been a 5-star review. Service was fantastic. We interacted with several staff members during our visit, and every single one was friendly and attentive. Our server Lisa was amazing - efficient, warm, and clearly experienced. Big kudos to the whole team! Great service, solid flavors, but the ribs missed the mark. Four stars for now - hoping for meatier ribs next time! :)

Chicken Bacon Ranch Nachos

We chose dine in for lunch. Table and cushioned seats were clean. Restrooms are located inside at far right of restaurant. Customer service exceeded our expectations. Our Server checked in on us a few times, asked how our food is tasting, brought extra napkins, if there's anything we need, ensured our beverages were refilled in a timely manner. Chicken Bacon Ranch Nachos: I wasn't fond of queso mixed with three types of shredded cheese. Tortilla chips with toppings and shredded cheese tasted fresh in comparison to queso.

Since when did Chili's decline to sit you if you have an outside drink? I came here for dinner and the hostess told me "I'm sorry but we don't allow outside drinks". There's no signs posted outside or on the doors. I just bought my drink and was not about to throw it away.. Especially since I've never had this issue before. We ended up leaving and eating at another nearby restaurant that allowed me to have my drink. Management, if you don't allow outside drinks, maybe it would be beneficial to post something on the doors or outside the establishment so customers are aware before walking into the restaurant and being denied seating until the beverage is gone. If you go to this Chili's location, make sure you don't have an outside beverage or you'll be refused service unless you throw it away or leave it in your car.

Chicken crispers

Came for lunch on a weekday with 3 coworkers. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a lunch time special menu. But that's okay because I always enjoy their chicken crispers meal. It is consistently tasty! We also got chips & salsa + white skillet queso for an appetizer. The service was ok. I think it could have been a little better, being that it wasn't very crowded. It seemed like we waited a long time for the checks to come out as well as drink refills not being tended to. I could've understood the slow service if it was a busy time. But this is my reasoning for a 4 star rating. We were seated in the bar area so it was a little loud so we found ourselves kind of speaking loudly to each other so we could hear the conversations. If you'd like a more peaceful dinner time conversation, request to not be seated in the bar area. Parking for this restaurant is available but the shopping center does get very busy at peak times.

No line for dinner at 4:45. Mahalo.

I'm full. Our server was perfect. Nothing bad to say. Always awesome. Also we parked behind the restaurant. We usually park across the parking lot next to Lowe's. Mahalo..

Triple Dipper®

Went on a Tuesday in the evening. Wasn't super busy at all! Our waitress was great and super attentive. We both got the triple dipper. I got the egg rolls, Nashville hot mozzarella sticks, and honey chipotle chicken tenders. They were great! Loved the ranch and the sauce that comes with the egg rolls. Overall I would return again when visiting the area and craving my favorite menu item, the triple dipper.

6oz Classic Sirloin* - 6oz

Always great service at Chili's in Waikele. Our waitress was quick and attentive. Chips and salsa is always a must! I got the 6oz sirloin, it came with mash potatoes and broccoli. The dish was good but my only complaint is that the sirloin was overcooked- I asked for medium rare and got medium-well. Lots of parking. Open late.

My 90s inspired $10 margarita. Pretty and sweet.

I appreciate that this Chili's has ample parking, and have improved their customer service with solidly happy greeters/hosts at the door. They are wildly popular with folks who find a sense of familiarity with a corporate restaurant like Chili's which feels the same from venue to venue. My child will pick this place as an eat out option because of the salsa and chips. And their chicken tenders that come with sauce he likes. The other kid will happily consume fancy lemonade. Their mom and dad like the interesting drink offerings. And they give so much food, we bring home leftovers. It's where people come. It can get loud but I think that's how it's meant to be.

Alex's Santa Fe Burger

If you like the vibes of the chain restaurant and loud local music playing over the conversations of a crowded family restaurant, then Chili's is for you. The color palette of the restaurant's food is brown because their food is basically bar food (fried). They do have some healthy offerings, but people don't come to Chili's for salad. We come for drinks. Their drinks are gigantic. Had their Resolution Breaker for $10. I had their Alex Santa Fe burger to round out my "Friday night I deserve this meal" which was layered with avocado and jalapeño. Decent burger. I like the heat. The other folks in my party were disappointed that they no longer carry the elote corn. And commented that their loaded mashed potato tasted funny. Service was good even though you could tell that the server was tired. Food was a tad slow. They were busy. I mean, it's Chili's. Not my personal favorite, but it's not a bad option.

The service was great at this Chili's! Crystal was a very tentative server and she was great helping us select the drink of our preference! Would definitely return to this restaurant! Good food although a bit pricey for the drinks. Wings are good. Nachos are excellent as well the guacamole. A little loud, but great servers. Hostess seems a little lost. Good experience and glad that they are still around.

We can deal with it being kinda in the ghetto of Waipahu but it was the very unhappy (clearly annoyed) counterperson who was taking our order - who SNAPPED AT MY MOM because she was confused with what comes with their plate lunch AND then the cook (assumedly - a different person than who took our order) annoyingly brought our items out to the table. She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving. We saw the owners on TV and are happy and glad to support a local business BUT NOT when your employees are rude and unfriendly. $45 - 1 mini plate + 1 signature item and 2 cans of soda, I would SKIP this place

With that I cannot fairly give them a five star rating no matter that I support mom and pops local restaurants and hike in the walls. When you stand in line for 10 minutes and the only choices they have is beef curry and bbq beef after an hour and a half of being open it's safe to say that they have a small operation and that the way only make enough food to stick their Lunchwagon and enough to serve at their brick and mortar for an hour and a half. If the demand is that high then they should consider making more food or at least warning prospective customers like myself not to waste my time if I don't get there before 9:30am. I don't care how good the food is or how great the prices are. If you can't provide that info to prospective customers, then you should. I gave 3 stars because of this even though I haven't had a chance to order the food.

Fast Forward to this past weekend, the Husband and I wanted a simple breakfast after the gym and Rocky's had popped into my head. Definitely a staple in the Waipahu community, this cozy coffee shop sits on Waipahu Depot Street right outside of the Waipahu Festival Market. The area can get ridiculously busy so if you can, park on the street instead of in the Lot. You will have a hard time getting in and out once the surrounding Businesses open. I'm assuming where you're sitting will determine the type of Service you get. We sat at the Counter, and while we were very entertained with watching them cook orders, we were a bit neglected by the Staff, while the parties at the regular tables were presented with friendlier and more patient Servers. We waited over 15mins to get our order taken and since I guess they thought we were regulars they kept rushing to take our orders while we weren't given Menu's. We pulled the Menu up on Yelp lol. Food was standard. I really loved the fried rice! but the Hash was passable, it was too mushy for my liking. Also, our order of pancakes came 20mins after we finished eating, I wish i were kidding, We kept trying to flag down Aunty to cancel but she was very frazzled cooking, taking orders, and filling orders so we just waited. At the end we spent $60 including tip and left with a Hoo-Hum experience. Although I know for certain I just don't have the greatest of luck with this place, I am so happy they are still around and very much thriving! Exactly what you'd hope for from a true mom & pop diner. Breakfast plates and House Specials come with coffee, hot tea, small juice, or even hot chocolate. Such a great value! The service is always friendly and down-to-earth, with that real family vibe that makes you feel right at home. I always stick to their breakfast menu (served all day), and it never disappoints.
