I have never experienced anything as magical and life changing as this Chilis. POV: you walk in the door and immediately sat. No wait. Our server greets us and was the kindest smiling face. Brooke, our server, brought us drinks and took our order. I was so excited to see IBC root beer on the menu and my friend got water. The water was bottomless, she was attentive to refills. The water was refreshing and crisp. We got some snacks and the chocolate molten lava cake. SURE, the lava cake could've been hotter, but nobody's perfect! That's why I quitted found a dead roach in the ice cream scooper even another one tried to run out the kitchen to the dining room before the cooks had caught it on time. My low updated review is coming purely from a customer service standpoint. Many years ago I was a hostess for Chili's and you would always find me or another host at the stand ready for a customer. Tonight, we waited way to long to be greeted at the stand and I don't think it's acceptable. If I wasn't someone who enjoyed the food, I would have walked out. When something or someone is attractive, society often refers to this person or thing as hot. Our meal this evening was okay, but the service we experienced lived up to its Chilly name (pun is definitely intended). I felt like a river that had been punished by God, and was no longer allowed access to the rain. My goblet was not adequately filled. Goblets are supposed to be filled, so it was really a passive aggressive move. Whilst trying to pay on their little game/payment processors, I couldnt find the chip location. Instead of directing me on where to insert, my waiter decided to just show me how to reset the whole machine. Cool party trick bro. It took 5 minutes for it to restart. I feel as dissatisfied as a young woman who patiently waited for her wedding night before entering into relations with a man, and was then given a 14 second let down. Will not return. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. My husband and I both got food poising from this place. The service was okay nothing incredible. Our waitress was sweet but very busy, which isn't an issue I get that. The ambiance was also okay nothing crazy was happening that we noticed. Just a thought here but I would not recommend wasting your time or money here. Also the cleanliness of the business itself should've been a red flag to begin with. My girlfriend and I tried to come in and dine in because Chilis was a past time that we both enjoyed. As we arrived there was trash at the front door and parking lot. We continued into the restaurant with empty tables as a couple people stood at the bar. No hostess just a piece of paper as a sign in sheet. I was told there was a 20 min wait even though there were multiple open tables. Then I asked if my girlfriend and I could go to the bar as we waited and the bar was half full. Very bad customer service here. The hostess just walked up to me and waited for me to say if I needed a table, she then non-verbally motioned me to my table, threw the menus down and walked off. The waitress literally talked 100 words a minute and was looking off as I was trying to order like she was being chased by rebels. This place has been going downhill for years, surprised it hasn't closed already. We walked in to a virtually empty place, no host to seat anyone, stood around for several minutes ungreeted, but glared at by the bar server. We observed many who were waiting on takeout orders, some door-dash & grubhub couriers, but nothing and no one actually serving or bussing tables, which were piled with leftovers from lunch so long they were buzzing with flies. Ate there last week. Food did not seem that bad, but the service is miserable. The server literally whisked the food to our table, set it down quickly then ran without asking if things looked okay, or asking if there would be anything else. Horrible. Then she disappeared for 35 minutes, and came back with the check. Not one word then either. I know she could talk, because we saw her chatting it up at the bar, laughing with staff and regulars. This Chili's is right by my house and I was really surprised to see I had not reviewed them before. Normally we go here for good "home style" cooking in an inexpensive atmosphere. I know it's a chain, but it's definitely one of the better chains out there and I specifically love this location because the staff are always friendly even though the place is consistently packed. For appetizers we almost always get their skillet queso and chips. This is a very unique queso and I've never had anything like it anywhere else. It's almost like a chili con queso, but done in a different way because it's not very thick. I really recommend it though because it's SO flavorful. Our normal fare is one of their southern style dishes. Specifically, we love their Chicken Fried Steak. It is sooooo amazing and their mashed potatoes and gravy go very well with it. This is definitely not low calorie though, and you can taste it in how DELICIOUS it is. We've also had their chicken crispers, but these can sometimes be so salty you can't even eat them. As a person who loves french fries, Chili's definitely makes it in my top 10 for their french fries which are seasoned very well. For the health conscious (hubby and I are trying to be more healthy) I highly recommend their Margarita Chicken. Skip the black beans, because they're watery and not yummy, but the chicken is SO flavorful and really has a strong citrus taste that adds a lot to the grilled chicken. I also like their rice and the little tortilla strips add a lot to the texture of the dish. Seriously, some of the best customer service you'll receive at a restaurant, and when you can combine that with well made food, you have a winner! read more

Chili's! Come on now, I know we can do much better than this. I know we are in a pandemic and staff is low, but there is no excuse for the unacceptable service we received tonight. After a 30 minute wait for our seat (which is understandable for a Friday night) we walk upon a partially clean table. After cleaning our table we were greeted by the waiter who took our drink orders. The drinks came out so we decided to order appetizers and our entrées. A party of three including myself and a person of special needs waited another 30 minutes for the wait staff to only bring out two entrées. The waiter noticed that the appetizers didn't come out along with the third Entrée. He went to the back and never returned . We waited 15 minutes still nothing. So we flagged down the manager Shawn who explained to us that they had a new "system" installed and new staff. He offer to remake the entree and appetizers, but unfortunately half of the party had already finished their meal. We were ready to go at this point. The bill did not include the items we did not get but it did include a beer we did not receive (which took additional five minutes to remove). The last person of my party had to go to taco bueno to receive his nachos, we did not want to spend another minute in that establishment. The worst meal I've ever had. Firstly, waited a long time to be seated in an almost empty restaurant. Then ordered steaks for us both. 1 ribeye, 1 10oz sirloin with shrimp. Order was switched. When we told the server the order was wrong, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. We sorted the plates out ourselves. I noticed the sirloin couldn't have been even 6 ounces. The 5 shrimps were the size of dimes for 3.25 extra!!! Will never eat at another Chili's again. And .... The place was FILTHY and they started sweeping while we were trying to eat. Chili's new slogan "it's not bad." We waited a couple minutes to be seated when it wasn't close to full. Then we waited over 20 minutes for the waiter to come take our order. Then we waited close to 20 min for food. Most of the entrees were fine, but clearly it sat out waiting for the server to grab them. Our friend's salmon was not hot and her steamed broccoli was raw and crunchy. We had to ask the waiter for more water, before ordering, and he took one of the glasses to "refill" and never came back with it. 10 min later I went searching for him and asked again for the water and for the cup... At that point he offered a free dessert which was appreciated. He was a nice enough guy, but attention to detail and work ethic was not a skill they've made a priority here. Finally, we started our meal letting him know we had two groups and who to put on which bill. When it was all said and done he only provided a single bill. #FAIL read more

We showed up at 9:15 (they close at 10) on a Sunday. We got seated pretty fast and our service was ok. The problem was our drinks were hot, and we didn't get our food until 10:20ish. When we finally did get our food we were missing some things on my order and the other entrees were cold. A lot of young people working here who only goof off during work. Let me start by saying that I've been eating at this Chili's since it opened in the 80s. Went for lunch one Sunday last month and ordered the ribs. That night, I had food poisoning as bad as if not worse than I did while traveling abroad. It was undoubtedly caused by my meal I had there as I didn't eat anything else but a bowl of cereal earlier that day. I noticed others on here have stated that they got food poisoning here as well. Definitely the worst Chilis I've ever been to. We ordered for takeout and they were 6 minutes late on getting our food ready. Not a huge deal, but then we get home and my food is cold and pretty much inedible. I got the big mouth bites and there was no ranch on it (my favorite part!) and they were so over cooked. Chili's has really upped its game since I've been last, about a year ago. Today, I ordered fish tacos, and they were some of the best I've ever had, anywhere: 1. Grilled tilapia, generous portion, nicely browned, tender and moist 2. Corn tortillas thin, fresh, and grilled just right 3. Perfect toppings incl cabbage, avocado slices, lime, cilantro, and pico All in all, these tacos were perfectly balanced, fresh, and delicious- I am very happy :P :) read more

I am 1000% dissatisfied with Chili's, like really how bad could it get? I almost believed this day could not get any worse but then we ate at Chili's. We were visiting my cousins from Georgia for a funeral, wish it was better terms. I honestly wanted the day to end on a better note, all things considering. We called up the rest of the family and told them we would go to Chili's in Galveston and met there to eat. You would think we would get more attention since we were the only people dining. WRONG! We were seated right away, but to even be asked for drinks or appetizers took literally 30 or so minutes. So we decided that we would ask for a waiter to take our order; how ghetto. So we were asked by the waitress what we wanted to start with and what to drink. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks, which was to be expected since we got food and drinks, but we never saw the waitress for a while to actually take our order. The manager on duty that night came up to my granddad and apologized for the wait and that the waitress quit in the middle of the shift and taking our order. WHOA! The only things out of my dad's mouth was food and, "She couldn't have waited after she took our order?!?" The manager chuckled but nobody else was laughing, she took our order and we waited another hour FOR THE WRONG ORDERS. So at this point, it is 10 pm, we have the wrong orders, and my mom is becoming the "Angry Black Woman". They offered us more food and desserts but we would have to pay for the original orders. My mom refused and I echoed because why would we pay for something we didn't and couldn't eat? They gave my grandma something with a herb that she is allergic to and she told them she doesn't want it anywhere near her. On top of that, the whole plate was burnt. My cousins couldn't eat anything that was the plate, it looked unappetizing. Extremely disappointed, but Georgia is not any better. When you go to a restaurant, you expect good service time, clean bathrooms and tables or booths and service with a smile. Chili's, you let me down. read more

Though Chili's does enjoy a decent reputation for food, it has never enjoyed or even aspired to creating a great reputation for service. This location doesn't help Chili's already poor history of lousy service. Today, we waited for about 15 minutes as a number of employees ran around the dining area. There seemed to be no one in charge and though the restaurant was not busy at all, we waited and waited for someone to recognize they had a customer: us. We were given plenty of "looks" as we patiently waited for someone to acknowledge us and at least let us know they knew we were wanting a table. A server came near and mumbled something about getting tables cleared and ready and left...never to be met again. We finally decided that, though we like Chili's, the reputation for lousy service is still in effect and we left. I don't think any of the servers were disappointed that we did. This attitude of providing ho-hum service is endemic to Chili's; and we've been to many in different states. And this is just part of the service problem with Chili's. Once ordered, on many, many occasions, it took an extraordinary time for the food to arrive. How the owners of this chain do not perceive this lack of service as problem to the chain, I don't know. read more
