Remix Rage Smash Room

Remix Rage Smash Room

Oh yeah, this is exactly what I needed! After randomly booking this and not really knowing what to…read moreexpect, my son and I showed up on a saturday and were the first appointment. We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

Great experience at Remix Rage Smash Room. I visited a few weeks ago based on a Groupon that I had…read more The staff was extremely helpful in organizing my session and preparing for my appointment. The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). It was stress relieving and fun with the opportunity to damage and destroy inanimate objects in a normally civilized world. I definitely recommend if in the DMV area.

Both my parents and I have adopted dogs from City Dogs, and I cannot thank them enough for bringing…read moresuch fantastic dogs into our lives. The adoption process was super easy, and they were willing to work with with me since we weren't sure my first dog was ready for a fur sibling. They wanted to make sure that the adoption was a good fit for everyone. I can say that compared to other rescues I have worked with, CDR goes out of their way to ensure that they are giving dogs a good home and make sure they are up front about a dogs needs and medical history. Pictures of my CDR friends, Lou and Elliot, are attached. :)

Trying to adopt a cat from City Kitties place was one of the most upsetting experiences I've had in…read moreyears. The way they handled it was so concerning that and I can't in good conscience recommended them to anyone. They are too disorganized and unprofessional to be trusted with the well-being of vulnerable animals. The short version of my story is, they told me for weeks that they were working on my adoption application when they'd actually deleted it because of a technical glitch that they never bothered to tell me about. The full version is as follows: I spent hours filling out the lengthy application to adopt a cat, Lala, from them and waited for weeks to hear back about her. Every time I contacted them about my application, they said they were working on it and I would hear back soon. As time went on, I knew something was off, but I didn't know what. Finally, after weeks of little-to-no communication from them, they sent me a curt email telling me they'd just given the cat to someone else (who applied long after I did, so clearly they have the capability to get adoptions done quickly when they want to) and that they knew all along I'd been trying to adopt her but had deleted my application without considering it and without telling me they'd done so. I was absolutely devastated. I'd wanted that cat so badly and had been waiting for weeks to hear back. I cried for days after getting that message. Everything about the way they handled this was incredibly suspicious and frankly gross. I truly don't understand why they chose again and again, for weeks, to tell me that they were working on my application when that wasn't true. They should have told me that there'd been a glitch so I could fill out a new one - that would have taken no more time and effort than telling me they were working on it. (Not to mention, the whole time this was happening, this poor little cat was homeless. Did they not care about her at all?) At the very least, they should have just said at the beginning that they weren't considering me; that would have saved me weeks of anxiety, confusion, and uncertainty and then the heartbreak at the end. No one at the organization acknowledged that I was hurt or that telling me they were working on my application when they'd actually deleted it was, at best, a wildly inappropriate and unprofessional thing to do. FF, I now have a lovely cat I adopted from Last Chance Animal Rescue and we're very happy together.
