We were lucky to find this school. It is obvious that our child has received enough love and care from the teachers, and Sally has payed lots attention to his emotions and needs. Their hot, nutritious and delicious lunches every day, Creates a safe and clean environment. As he grows up, our baby has made a lot of progress in politeness, sharing, greetings, and communication. We really recommend this school 100%, and are very satisfied and grateful.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Childrens Cottage. Our granddaughter absolutely looks forward to going to school every day. She used to fuss and complain about going to her old school. Now, even on the weekends, she still asks to see Miss Sally. The school is extremely clean and well-organized. All of the teachers are so experienced and caring towards the students. The snacks are all healthy and the lunches are delicious. Even our picky little girl compliments Miss Sally's expert cooking all the time. There is no better preschool in Cupertino. We are so pleased with the high quality training and education here.

    Xiao Baby is very happy!

Our daughter absolutely loves this school. She was not doing well in a previous Cupertino preschool, and she'd constantly get sick there. The facility here is so clean, and they follow the highest standards for infection control. Our girl is so much healthier now. Miss Sally is very caring, as are the other teacher aides. Our girl really likes to sing and dance there. The teachers are very patient with their students. They learn art and drawing. She finished her potty training here without any issues. Our baby girl even asks for Miss Sally on the weekend! She really likes her delicious cooking and healthy snacks. What a big difference Childrens Cottage has made for us. We highly recommend this wonderful school!

This little girl really knows how to enjoy life at school

If you want to find the most caring and well-rounded preschool, then look no further. Childrens Cottage has the best teachers and the cleanest learning facility ever. From the moment you meet Miss Sally, you know that your little one will be in excellent hands. Miss Sally is very experienced with child development. She taught our granddaughter to be independent and polite. Now, she's able to follow rules much better, and even wear a mask all day, which is something that she was never able to do at her previous school. Miss Sally incorporates art into her curriculum, and now, Baby Bella really enjoys drawing and painting. Previously, our granddaughter was very behind in her communication skills. After attending Childrens Cottage, her Mandarin has improved tremendously. She can express more complex ideas, and each day, we ask, "Wow, where did you learn that?" Bella tells us, " From my Miss Sally. I want to hug my Sally!!" We've never seen her grow this attached to a teacher before. This further attests to Miss Sally's attentive care. The teachers are all very talented and engaging with their students. One other important point- Baby Bella can't get enough of Miss Sally's delicious cooking. Our granddaughter is such a picky eater. She tells us that all the food from Miss Sally is so yummy. They provide healthy snacks and lunch. Baby Bella comes home from school happy, also because she's well-fed. Our only regret is not starting her sooner here. We wasted time in a different school with many classes and teachers who were too busy. If you want a nurturing environment where your child will thrive emotionally and developmentally, then Childrens Cottage is the right school for your precious little one.

There is also an annual parent-teacher conference for tracking progress. The facilities are great--especially the large backyard with play structures. Please note there's a dog at the school, which was fine for us, in some cases playing with animals helped our kids develop. The kids themselves seemed much more developed and mature than we expected when we did our tours. This sold us, one of the older girls was able to empathize while conversing with my wife during our visit. The children spoke mostly in English to each other while playing, so it's very good preparation for Kindergarten though we wished the kids could play in Chinese.

From the very beginning, the team at Early Horizons went above and beyond to provide not only excellent care, but also genuine love, support, and nurturing for both of our children. Special shoutout to Teacher Crystal and Teacher Kristen in the infant room, and Teacher Jennie and Andreina in the toddler room. These individuals are absolutely amazing, and we fully trust them with our children. They are so nurturing and loving, and you can truly tell they enjoy what they do and have a genuine love for kids. Our son attended from 10 months old until he was 2 1/2, and our daughter started at just 5 months and stayed until she was 2. Both of them thrived in this environment, and as parents, we always felt reassured knowing they were in such capable and compassionate hands. As they reached each milestone, the amazing teachers celebrated with them. This was so heartwarming as it revealed how much our children meant to them. One thing we especially appreciated was the consistent updates throughout the day--feedings, snack times, and photos. It gave us so much peace of mind and helped us feel connected, even when we were apart. We never felt like we were missing out on their growth and development. If it weren't for changes in our family situation and commute, we would absolutely still be there. Early Horizons will forever hold a special place in our hearts and sets the highest standard for all daycare centers and schools. We highly recommend Early Horizons Preschool to any family looking for a safe, supportive, and loving environment for their children. One final note-- our son's Occupational Therapist, who's been working with children for nearly two decades, paid a visit to Early Horizons to assess the environment to provide strategies to maximize our son's abilities. Verbatim, she said, "I've never seen a daycare that is more caring and accommodating than this one". Cheers to the best daycare ever! Thanks for the core memories!

The first 3 teachers were especially nice to talk to, and they came across as welcoming. However, I had a bad experience with Ms. Verna Rego, the music+dance class teacher. She came across as pushy, and handled her disappointment at my child transferring out of BB quite badly - for reasons beyond my immediate understanding. I barely stopped myself from being confrontational in the play school classroom. (I think the motivation was to increase class strengths and thereby raise money for the class, but the other teachers did so much more professionally and engagingly. But this is speculation on my part just for my own understanding.) Save for this one teacher, I am happy with the school. I heartily recommend the other teachers. FWIW - my child transferred to a full time (non-participatory) pre-school, and is doing well, contrary to Ms.Verna Rego's expectations. Imperious behavior and shaming parents for deciding what's best for their child never work, Teacher Verna. Not that I really care about advising you, it's only about my child. And for the future parents who take your classes.

My favorite (Mtn View Parent Observation) only met one day a week and I wanted another school my twins could attend one day a week, and this was the only other one. Also, a big plus was that I could stay with my kids at the school while they played. At other schools like Sunnyvale Parent Participation the moms were assigned a station, and they looked ready to kill themselves as they stood alone in a room to monitor the dress-up area or the puzzle table. Mom Interaction The class make-up was about 75% Indian, 20% East Asian (mostly Taiwanese), and 5% Caucasian. Socializing with other moms was hard. Everyone was nice but almost all had only come to this country very recently, and didn't know the language well. I actually met an American-born Indian mom who pulled her daughter from this school after a year because it was TOO Indian. The plus: good Indian food at the potluck. Mommy Meetings The meetings felt like "parenting for dummies," like I was attending a remedial parenting class. I was talked at instead of having a real discussion. The discussion one day was about how playing is good for kids. If you don't know this by now, I seriously question your parenting skills... (This is in contrast to Mtn View Parent Observation's mom meetings that were informative and a fun gab session.) Curriculum/Classroom The play area is largely concrete, which was one of the big turn-offs to me when I initially visited. The sitting area is WAY too small for parents and kids. The school lacks funds and it shows since there wasn't much variety in the toys on the table. Even after only a few weeks there were lots of repeats. Also, the puzzles (3-5 piece puzzles with non-interlocking pieces) were too easy for my kids who admittedly were the oldest in the class. I'm not bragging, just wishing they could have had some variety and something age appropriate. And please, school, provide nametags that work. These never worked well at all, and usually hung backwards. Also, if I have to march with flags one. more. time... And then there was the incident. My kids had been dealing with separation super well with no problems for a month after the mommy meetings started. But then one morning, my daughter got upset when she couldn't see me in the classroom when I was with her twin brother. (He was still eating and she was behind a wall with dress-up clothes. Not an ideal set-up to have a barrier here, by the way.) She was very clingy just before separation time, but I settled her and left, thinking that if there was a problem someone would get me. Twenty minutes passed, the meeting ended, and I thought everything must have been fine, and I walked back to the classroom. She was crying. One of the moms was holding her, and she told me that she and some of the other moms had been comforting her the last twenty minutes. TWENTY minutes. They were supposed to come get me after FIVE. After school I spoke to the teacher and aide about it. The teacher had been at the meeting with me, but the aide stayed behind with the kids. The aide told me she had no idea that my daughter was crying. Both seemed skeptical that about her crying since it had gone unnoticed by the aide, and raised questions about how long or hard she'd been crying. (I would have preferred more of a sincere apology and empathy.) They asked if there was a mom my kids knew who looked out for my kids, as though 1) it was my fault, and 2) after a few weeks my kids were super close to the other moms like we've been hanging out and babysitting each others' kids for years. I believe the aide and of course don't think she was doing anything malicious. HOWEVER, I think things could definitely have been handled differently. The moms told me that several kids that day were crying in the outside yard (where they can see the moms leave), per usual. I think that once the aide calmed down the criers, she thought her work was done. I suspect she went inside once and didn't notice anything amiss with my daughter because she's a sobber, not a screamer, and with the moms holding her, the aide didn't see her. But clearly she should have ASKED if everyone was okay. After this incident, I had a totally different child. At home with their beloved grandparents visiting, at parks, and at playdates my previously independent daughter didn't like leaving my side for a minute. At their other preschool I couldn't go the mommy meeting for *months*, and she was glued to my side the ENTIRE class. I couldn't get her to play; she just wanted to stand next to me, and cried if I even started to walk somewhere else. I even had to sit next to her during snack time when all the kids sit together to eat their snacks. It might not sound like much, but this was a very VERY difficult time for her and me.
