I have never been so insulted, nor have I ever had such ridiculously bad service in my life as I have from Chilcotin Guns. As someone new in the community, trying to shop local is important. Getting sworn at in front of other customers and thrown out of the store was just a bit too much for me. The guy behind the counter ('Al') spent most of the time I was there complaining about (and this is a quote) "all the f%$#@#$ customers not allowing him time to sort and organize stock"... (trying to justify the isles of boxes)... And after being told the rifle I was looking for 'just might' be in the big pile of boxes, I was told to come back after 3 or 4 days. So, 4 days later, I returned to see nothing had moved. There were still piles of boxes everywhere. Asking for the same rifle, I was once again told it 'just might' be in the pile on the floor. Since I had driven for over an hour to get there (twice), I didn't think it was out of line to ask him to check the packing slip to see if it was indeed there. BIG MISTAKE. This caused Al to launch into a tirade that would have made a trucker blush. "You condescending piece of s%@#... F*%& you, get the F$@* out of my F@$*^# store!" was his reply. He proceeded to physically chase me out of his store while screaming.. He didn't stop there, either. He followed me right into the parking lot while continuing to demonstrate his cunning linguistic skills. The guy parked beside me apparently thought I was trying to rob the place, because he jumped out of his truck to find out why I was being chased out of the store. I tried to briefly explain what happed over Al yelling 'get the F@#$ off my property' in the background. Apparently this was pretty typical of the customer service here.. I couldn't get out of there quick enough. I got in my truck, drove to 100 mile, and found the same rifle cheaper there.
If you're looking to get yelled and sworn at, give the place a try. If you want to be belittled and insulted in front of other customers, this is certainly the place for you. Personally however, I'm going to avoid Chilcotin Guns like the plague. read more
