This place used to be so good when I was a freshmen (3 years ago) now the food tastes cheap

Love this place!! The chicken lips are so good!! Decent prices and its always clean. The only down side is that it can get a little loud.

Food is great! Anytime someone is visiting Macomb and asks for a restaurant recommendation I say to go here. Can't go wrong with the lips! But the best is the baked potato soup, I've tried MANY baked potato soups and this is my favorite. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the small small size, I have to wait for a table almost every time, and if there is a special weekend at WIU, like family weekend or homecoming then you're going to wait a very long time! read more

What is NOT to like about CHICK'S??? I've eaten there, ordered out, and loved every item. Staff is very knowledgeable on items when I've asked questions. My take-out's are ready by the time I arrive or shortly after. This restaurant is a definite plus for Macomb. I've never seen it empty. Where other places fail this one thrives...why? GOOD FOOD! Went with friends and service was AWFUL. The server Betsey was rude, & very unprofessional. Food wasn't good at all asked for something different and was charged for 2 meals. Spoke with Betsey about the situation she laughed as if she didn't care so we asked to speak to the manager Kyle. He was also rude and very unprofessional and walked off in the middle of the conversation! Both need to be fired! read more

it was a busy night up on the square as it was DAD's Day at WIU. I got the portabello mushroom fries and the monetary chicken sandwich.I had gotten the fries before so I knew how good they can be. I try to order something different each time i'm there, so I chose the monetary chicken. it was yummy! I also got a martini which was very good! Daughter got her usual of the Lip Fries. I tried a bit of hers and the Lip sauce is very good but the heat can sneak up on you. I don't know if I could eat a plate of that as my lips would be on fire at the end. service was prompt even with how busy they were and our server was very nice. read more

The chicken lips were very good. We got the lip gloss (BBQ). They were very tasty. Don't bother with the salad. Too much ranch dressing which I wanted on the side. I think there was cheese and other stuff on the salad but couldn't really see any. Waffle fries were soggy. Just get the chicken. read more

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Macomb. Their unique "lip sauce" is a delicious combination between a traditional buffalo wing sauce and a heavier gravy. Their menu may be small but all of the items on it are heavy hitters, try the lips (breaded sauced chciken tenders) and be amazed. These huge tender pieces of chicken are easily worth the price they charge for them. Their burgers are also delicious, but tend to be a tad over cooked so if you want medium order it med rare. not much in the way of light fare, though they do offer some salads. Also delicious are the fresh made daily potato soup, topped with cheese bacon and green onions, and the waffle fries. They have an amazing selection of specialty martinis, and a full bar as well. read more

Others have reviewed the chicken, but I have to say this place has the BEST BURGERS EVER. And I know burgers - my husband pretty much won't eat anything else. We ordered ours medium rare and they were on the rare side of medium rare, but they were amazingly delicious. AMAZING. read more

AMAZING! My husband and I adore this restaurant, and we have loved everything we have ever had there, including the burgers, mushroom fries, and martinis, but especially the lips! We went here regularly while attending WIU, and although we now live several hours away, we occasionally make the trip back to Macomb to visit with friend, check out the town, but most importantly, to eat the delicious food at Chick's! :) Whether eating in or getting delicious food as take-out, this restaurant is the best! read more

Very unique little bar & grill that has made huge success in a short amount of time. The food is excellent and most is something you don't see everyday. Has a huge list of martinis and they are all very popular. Full bar and TV's inside with a great atmosphere. Definitely a favorite in Macomb. read more

Had the lip spud - chicken finger with potato. Lots of ranch onion cheese and bacon - bacon was the best part followed by the moist chicken. Will be back service was decent nothing special. The chicken was an average price and was correctly sized meal for the price. read more

We were referred here by the rental agent at my child's apartment. Service is slow and perfunctory. We had to ask for drink refills, and our waitress took her time bringing them. The lips (chicken strips) are huge, so order accordingly. In our party, we had lips that ranged from perfectly cooked to tough and stringy. The sides were tasty, especially the cole slaw. It was okay, but I don't understand the long lines. There are much better restaurants in Macomb. read more

Everyone from Western Illinois University raves about Chicks. I decided to give it multiple tries, and it has been clear to me it is a hit and miss. Sometimes it's good and you don't get food poisoning, other times, you get food poisoning your bowels imploding. It's really bad. I bit into my lip wrap and the lip was raw. The wait staff is awful, rude, and will ignore you. There are two males that are waiters and are very nice, other then that, prepared to be ignored. If you call for takeout, prepared to hear a bustling crowd in the background and a employee tell you they're closed and hang up on you with giving you a chance to respond. The food is nothing to rave about if we are being honest, it's basically a large chicken strip that they thought an artistic name would be to name it "lip"(nothing special about that)slapped between two buns with mediocre sauce on it. If you are prepared to gamble with your bowels and the well being of your emotional and physical state then I would say go ahead and give chicks a try! Unfortunately, chicks is raved and viewed so highly because most of the food in Macomb is God awful.In general, just stay away from Macomb Illinois. read more

The food is AWESOME! anything you order it likely to become your favorite. The loaded baked potato soup is a must and the chicken lips make for a great experience! The downfall is the employees/service is a little weak as I have never seen a manager/owner present, but they get the job done. read more
