First of all, I have to say that the chicken here is amazing. The strips are always nice big pieces of white meat. Outside is always Krispy, love the mashed potatoes and gravy. We have been eating here for at least five years, and have made it a tradition to get the giant family meal when we visit the brewery next door, as many other families do. Yesterday, it was very disappointing when they called a tow truck to tow customers of the brewery who had parked at their extended lot. we understand that you dont want your parking lot taken over, however it would be safe to say that every car that parked in your lot bought your chicken and ate it outside at the brewery and enjoyed the beautiful weather and music. read more

We love chicken express always fresh and hot. Staff is always friendly. Only improvements I was suggest are on the biscuits and the mashed potatoes. Until tonight I thought Chicken Express was a close second. We haven't been in a long time because their prices went through the roof with all the inflation/supply problems/all the disaster Covid caused, but I just had surgery, and I've been craving their tenders. We ordered a combination and had to wait about 14 minutes for our order...... they said they had a few minutes to wait for "spicy"..... we did not order spicy. Nevertheless we had to wait. We don't live very far away, about 5 minutes. The chicken was cool..... not warm, not hot, by the time I got to my second piece it was almost cold. Cold fried chicken is not good when you expect nearly hot. This time it was also exceptionally heavy with grease from the fryer. So I am officially cured from Chicken Express in Magnolia. read more

Well now, this little chicken joint they got going on there is pretty fantastic. I know its a chain around Texas and such but still good. They have some down to earth home cooked-like chicken and sides. Its all fried stuff, so don't expect anything that is kind of healthy. That being said it is very good chicken. I really like the mash potatoes and rolls. You can get a roll or biscuit, both are a good choice. All the boxes of food come with a side of gravy, if you are getting chicken they have fish items as well but that's not for me. You should ask for the packets of serendipity. Regular or spicy. The fried okra is crisp and flavorful...some of the best I've ever had. Great mashed potatoes and the chicken that can't be beat. We will drive 80 miles round trip just for a craving and hope one day they put one closer to Houston! read more

I usually love this place, their spicy tenders are great with fried okra but this time will be the last I eat from this location. My tenders had a bone sticking out and they were fatty. I have no clue why there was a bone in there, I assume they ran out of breast and they cut from a chicken thigh or drumstick to make my tender. I don't know. But it was gross read more

Only because Chicken tasted good. While we were placing our order an angry man came and yelled at the overworked and harrassed cashier. She left us and tried to find out what was going on with his order that was 10 minutes later than he expected. She also got the manager. The cook started yelling at everyone that he couldn't cook any faster with only 2 fryers. He was rude and belligerant with the front staff. The manager came and tried to talk to the angry man. He wasn't happy- at that point I would have given him back his money and offered him the food whenever it got done (15) minutes later. He left angry. They brought out two other orders that were completely wrong. The informed us that they didn't have drumsticks.-its a chicken place. They also didn't have several sides. We waited about 25 minutes. At that point the sweet server informed us that they didn't have our sides. My guess is the workers are kind and friendly but that place needs more adult management and a cook with a calmer temper. Its possible he is just frustrated with poor food/ supply ordering and with so many people working maybe they needed a few more cooks. The chicken was good but I won't be going back. read more

Last time we were there the waitress seating us had her mask off her nose as she got to our table she sneezed all over our table and menus and went to get our chips and salsa without washing her hands or cleaning our table or Menzies when we said something we were dismissed. I've been here several times and the service is always incredibly slow. I'm usually asked to pull around and wait and all I order is the chicken tender meal. Minimum 15-20 minute wait even when there's only a car or two ahead of me. And then when I finally get the food it's only warming, certainly not piping hot like they had to cook it fresh. Today was the final straw though. The guy at the window was sarcastic and rude when I questioned the amount he told me since it was different from what the girl taking my order said. Bad service is a pet peeve of mine. I will not return to this location. Great tea but mediocre food and seriously piss poor service is not worth it. read more

My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes away for this place (I used to live in San Antonio and ate there all the time. ) Overall, the food is good but the BEST thing is their corn nuggets. So we ordered, two meals and corn nuggets. We got our meal quickly but no corn nuggets. WHAAAAAAAT. My boyfriend asked about it when we realized they were missing. The cashier said it'd be right out. So we waited. Over 20 minutes. NO CORN NUGGETS. As I sit here in the chicken express, I still have not received my beloved nuggets of corn. I am very disappointed in the fact they didn't offer to refund or at least give us cookies to reimburse us for our misery. read more

This was our first visit. The tender meal was missing the French fries. The 8 piece family meal was missing the rolls and corn on the cobs. Of course we discovered this after we got home. I phoned and spoke with the manager, Erica. She apologized and offer to remake our meal, if we would return. She only had them give us fresh fries and the rolls. I had to ask for the corn, again. So I have hot fries and corn, to go with my cold chicken. Not the best impression. I also saw an employee taking food and eating it behind the manager's back, while he was getting orders for the drive through. Drove through the drive-thru and orders 12 pc. family deal w/2 sides and rolls also order 9 pc. gizzards. They said the gizzards would take 9 min. to cook. I waited for my order and received it. When I got home I got 12 pc. chicken w/ 1 side and no gizzards. I called and spoke to someone that took my name and # said the owner would contact me, that was over a week ago. Stopped by tonight to get dinner for my family, a large order for a large family. They didn't have enough chicken, breast, and asked me to except two legs as a substitute. I asked if they could replace with four legs because of the significant size difference. The employee was quite rude and walked off shaking his head at me after I've been waiting 15 minutes for the food I just paid almost $50 for. He came back out and explained that they could not do that. I told him I thought it was very rude that he shook his head at me like I had asked for a free meal and he explained it had been a very bad day. I asked to speak to his manager, Alan, and Alan came right out. Alan handled the situation very well and apologized for the other employees rudeness. As a manager myself I understand that our customers are very important to our success and should always be treated with respect. Alan was very polite and professional.
