To say our pictures exceeded our expectations would be a gross understatement. They were amazing - breathtaking and beautiful, classy and inventive. The special effects he did to some of the shots were fantastic and unlike anything I've seen from other wedding photographers. He was so easy to work with from the beginning, planning stages through the delivery of our album and picture cd and everything in between. Countless friends and family have complimented us on his work, many commenting they wish THEY had used him for their wedding. You can tell from his work that he is more than a photographer, he is an artist. We took many fun pictures around the city - the lakefront, el stops, Wrigley, our favorite neighborhood bar, and they all turned out so well. I never felt "posed" and the way he used the landscape and architecture of the locations to frame out the pictures and tell our story was great. I hired this company based on its positive reviews. This was my experience: * Hair and makeup setup requirements were not communicated to the hotel staff. Requests for chairs and mirrors were never relayed, and my mother had to scramble the morning of the wedding to accommodate everyone. * Room numbers were not provided to the hair and makeup vendors. I had to send that information myself. This included texts and calls the morning of my wedding! * My makeup artist got lost and attempted to contact our planner for assistance but could not reach her. I was the one providing directions and room information to the vendor over the phone on my wedding morning! * Our planner heavily emphasized the importance of managing guest allergies and told us she would personally check in with guests regarding accommodations before dinner. This did not happen. During dinner, two guests approached me at the sweetheart table asking whether their allergies would be accommodated. * Our planner arrived approximately 40 minutes- an hour late to the rehearsal on Friday. Because the venue was close to closing, we began without her, and I ended up running my own rehearsal and processional. (If i was a planner I would be 30 minutes early, on time is late. Being 30+ minutes late after the start time is unacceptable.) * I was immediately told by the planner that she had been downstairs attempting to gain access the entire time she was late. Based on information from members of our wedding party who were waiting for her, that was not the case. We had people waiting for her. We had a lost phone being found outside during that time. She was not there. * During our first dance, she was seated in the background next to the DJ, slouched over, visibly scrolling on her phone. The bright screen is clearly visible in our first dance video. * Throughout the weekend, I received multiple complaints about her from members of the wedding party. * There were repeated errors in the wedding timeline, which was not finalized and distributed until the day before the wedding. Too many things were cut too close to the final few days before. * When the timeline was finally sent, multiple family members contacted my husband and me because bridal party members had been omitted, times were incorrect, and other information contained errors. These are the events as I experienced them. Others may have had different experiences, but this was mine.

I knew once I talked with them on the phone that they would be great to get the party going which is exactly what I wanted and what I received. Dan did a great job. He was all set up with music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There were specific songs I wanted and did not want played, and he followed that even though I know one of my guests tried to request a song on the no-play list. There was a questionnaire that I was supposed to fill out and even though I didn't fill out half of it because I didn't know or didn't really care about certain things, I'm glad they asked all of those questions because I didn't think about the songs that would make my coworkers dance or the song that my parents danced to at their wedding that some people might overlook and really want played due to the sentimental value. He didn't come up to us very often except a to make sure he pronounced all of my wedding party's names and the right first dance song. The only thing he goofed on which is why I'm giving this a 4 star rating was because I asked for a particular song to be played for our ceremony exit (through email not questionnaire) and instead some other song was played that I had never heard of. At the time, I didn't care (how could I, I had just gotten married), but now I wish it had been the song I wanted. Overall, great job and super fun!!!

Don told us he wasn't available for that day and he would send somebody else that had a lot of experience as well, his name was Mike I think...and we were okey about it. We never met with the other dj as we did everything with Don. The day of the wedding was a little disappointing for me and my husband with the dj, we requested on the questionnary a few songs that were special for us and never happened also when I met Don I warned him that half bridal party had Hispanic names and I know it can get tricky if you don't speak Spanish, but Don was super aware and he told me he knew how to pronounce them so I didn't worry...but the day of the wedding all the names were just Pronunounced awfully wrong even the bride name was pronounced just wrong wrong wrong! Now I have a video of the wedding reception were you clearly you can see the dj just landed in the wedding and didn't even see the questionnary before it, otherwise would take the time to call us to take a note how to pronounce everybody's name if you don't know how to pronounce them... The music was okey,it wasn't bad but I was expecting a little more, we didn't complain at the time as we were trying just to ignore the bad and enjoy our special day. What is done is done but my recommendation would be for Don to follow closer the other djs that work with him to make sure they give a quality service, I am sure Don is a great dj and he really care about giving a good service as he was great working with is before the wedding day.
