The Chicago Publishers Gallery is located in the Chicago Cultural Center (Randolph entrance), on both sides of the stairs.
Books printed by Chicago publishers are on display and free to browse. You can't take the books with you and there is no one guarding the books, making you feel guilty for how long you browse/read. The couple of lounge-y chairs in the Gallery are rarely occupied.
Chicago Publishers Gallery is my new favorite place. It's interesting to see what's been published locally and I've gotten to look through all kinds of books at my leisure. After reading a good portion of "Sleep Is for the Weak: The Best of the Mommybloggers" I plan to purchase it for my sister.
Also, its proximity to Millennium Station makes it a good place to kill time while waiting for your train. read more
