Three reasons not to use their services if you live in downtown Chicago and moving to the east coast (specifically Philadelphia). 1. Hidden costs / fees I specifically asked about charges for certain size trucks and vehicles but was not told the truth. 2. Terrible customer service and communication I attempted to discuss a complaint regarding the hidden or deceitful fees and the customer service rep did not listen, was quite rude and immature, acted as if she hung up and then proceeded to huff / sigh on the phone and literally yelled "what's wrong with you people." The phone has been hung up in my face multiple times. Requested to speak to the manager but was on an extended hold. The manager actually informed me she heard the representative being rude to me and apologized on her behalf. But sadly as a manager if you hear an employee being unprofessional then you should have stepped in earlier. 3. Still did not receive my things Well it's almost two weeks and not only have I not received my things but I have not received an update on them. Every time I call after I'm placed on an extended hold I am then told that my paperwork was never updated which should have ovcurrrd by 24-48 hours after the move. Well it's now 7 days and nothing. They have received well over 1 grand and not a peep about my belongings. Additionally one of the day of the move I am pretty sure one of the movers was high based off his behavior and what I saw him smoking on the truck. I'm working to formally complain to the BBB. Oh and if you call to get an ETA about your things you get a recording which practically stated it may take 21 days for them to contact you or for them to deliver your things. For all the money we spend to move please get a more reputable company who is honest and cares about the customer. This review is to spare others my pain so you can make an informed decision. I don't even write many reviews but due to the amount of money spent and such poor communication and service (esp when moving is already stressful) it was worth helping others so they won't end up like me. The positive reviews are likely fake and posted by their bad contracted movers/drivers. Update - my things arrived a month late and destroyed. I paid double my initial contract. CCC Movers made my move from Chicago to Los Angeles so darn smooth! I would highly recommend this company. If it were possible to give them ten stars I would. I contacted Chicago Cross Country Movers and was scheduled for the very next day. The person I spoke with during the reservation was Shelly, and she was very attentive and detailed. The three man crew [Josh was the crew foreman :-)] worked nonstop on a very, very hot day. They were courteous, efficient, and completed the job under the estimated time quoted. The price was on par with all of the other companies if not cheaper in the end. All of my furniture and household goods survived the move with nothing being left behind or broken. The movers assembled my bed and removed a flat screen TV and large glass table top from wood crating. I will add here that they also moved my storage unit where all of my furniture, household goods, and clothing were and packaged ALL my goods. Based on their professionalism and my experience with them during the move, there's no doubt in my mind that I would have hire them again. I called these guys, after years of do it yourself and trying to save money. I found this to be well worth the investment! HASSLE FREE!! I LOVE it!! I'm tired of U-haul, IT always turns out to be more than the $19.99 u expected to pay. Plus the unreliable friends or people with last minute changes leaving you stuck with a truck and no movers! on one of my moves I actually had friends of mine ROLL my round cherry wood table top for about 20 yards on the cement sidewalk from the truck all the way into my new apt. Now at every meal I sit and look at the damage along the edges of what was a beautiful table. Wondering how I might fix and more over how did they think that was good idea. So for my 3rd move in 3 years - I wanted hassle free and that is exactly what I got when I decided to go with a moving co. no arguments , no you OWE ME.. no damages and better yet MY FAV, IT WASN'T VERY EXPENSIVE!! I was waiting for the perfect day to finally clean out my storage unit get rid of some things and move things back into my place. Today was the day. Great weather a little rainy but had the day off. unfortunately the movers were 2 hours late which set my whole schedule behind. The driver Mikey was very apologetic but I was still annoyed since I had to reschedule my dentist appointment cause of the delay. The move went pretty smooth I would say although they did drop my dresser and put a nice long scratch along side it. Fortunately though it was along the side that is covered by the wall so you can't see it. Overall we got the job done. They offered a discount which I accepted But I might shop around and do more research next time I want to move items. read more

From the beginning, CCC Movers were prompt to call me back (Thanks Natalie) and gave me the best price (compared to 3 other moving companies in Chicago). On the day of the move, I received a courtesy call to inform me they would be a few minutes late (which was great because I was running late). We had an amazing experience with Cross Country. The guys that packed our stuff were so professional and efficient. There was a lot of sensitive art pieces that required a special packing and they arrived as good as new. Even though the movers were great our special thanks goes to Dylan. He was so helpful during the whole time. Since this is our first long distance move he made it stress free for us. I used these guys for our move to California. The one thing I was worried about was our furniture arriving in one piece due to our collections of highly valuable & fragile items. They ensured us they would take great care in packing and assisted with getting full coverage on the entire shipment. To be honest I've never seen a comparable moving service. My grandma who lives in Texas had a large dresser and 2 refrigerators that needed to be moved. I had done a little research on moving companies and the gentleman Sammy sounded very professional and gave a great price to move it to chicago.
