Located inside Hotel NYX is an Italian restaurant that truly gives you a first class experience. The food is made to perfection, the service is beyond compare, and the atmosphere is true Italian fine dining at its best. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, but if I could, I'd give it SIX stars.
My lady and I made reservations for 6pm on a Monday just to be safe. The staff greeted us right away as soon as we arrived. As we sat down, we received a plate of olives and Parmesan cheese, fresh baked bread, and two caprese appetizers. Their menu is very nice and has a plethora of antipasto, pastas, pizza, seafood, and a host of other delicious options. Their libations menu is very nice too. We started with a wonderful bottle of 2016 Chianti which was one of the best Chiantis I've ever had (and I've had MANY). Our server, Ivonne, is one of the owners of the establishment, along with her partner Antonio, who definitely knows his wine. Both were amazingly welcoming and friendly. We weren't really feeling like any appetizers after what they already brought, so we went straight to our mains. My lady ordered the spaghetti cacio e pepe and I ordered the salmone con caponata verdure. We enjoyed lots of great conversations with both Ivonne and Antonio. When our food came out, everything looked fantastic, and tasted even better. Cacio e pepe may seem like a simple dish on the surface, but it takes skill to perfect, and their chef did just that. You can tell everything was homemade. I really enjoyed my salmon too, grilled just right, and the skin was nice and crispy. We usually don't indulge in dessert, but their options looked so good that we decided to have two, the cannolo siciliano and the pannocotta. The pannocotta is like an Italian take on cheesecake made with gelatin so it's much lighter. The cannolo was one of the best I'd ever had and wasn't too sweet at all. The whole experience was absolutely top notch.
I'll admit, I wasn't expecting such an amazing Italian experience here, but that's truly what we received. Don't underestimate this wonderful restaurant just because it's attached to a resort. If you love authentic Italian cuisine, you'll love it here. read more
