They did all that they could so that I solely could focus on my recovery. But It's currently 2026, so why am I writing this now? Let me explain. A year after my settlement was completed, I was getting mysterious calls for collections for my ambulance ride. However, the bill was never sent to me to verify the debt. Michael assured to me that the paperwork they sent was not the right paperwork to verify. But me being skeptical was still afraid and overly cautious because I'm a person who pays all his debts, and didn't want my credit score affected. So Michael suggested that he can hold some of the settlement money as a "just in case" fund until the statutes of limitations expire. I think I can say that for any normal person, this would also seem to be a kind of sticky situation to take on as an alternative, right? Because this agreement requires trust. But in the end his team wrote a contract and I agreed and signed to hold the money. Now to why I'm writing this now; it has been years past since the settlement. The original attorney and translator who first handled our case both left the firm within about a year, and the new team that took over seemed unfamiliar with the details of our situation and our expectations.
