I hadn't read reviews before coming here (most are on another popular review website) so my selections were a bit off, but on my next visit, I'll have to order their charcuterie and cheese plates with proper wine pairings. They also have a selection of brunch options. I was eyeing one of their omelettes (in a style from Corsica, with an aromatic cheese in it and served with charcuterie and a side salad), but I ended up going with a slice of "Muenster Valley" meat pie, served with lettuce and carrot salads. If I could have eaten two brunches at once, I would have picked these two items, but I was very full from the meat pie, especially after starting out with half of a cheese plate. I'll have to come back to try the omelette later. The meat pie and side salads were delicious and everything tasted fresh. I really loved the way they prepared the side salads - very light, simple dressing to bring out natural flavors (I believe French produce is organic and is rich with natural flavor). The cheese plate (mine was a half portion) was very good and featured four kinds of cheeses: a soft muenster cheese, a very strong British cheese (sorry, I can't recall the name), a truffled gouda, and an earthy goat cheese. I had just gotten off a redeye and would have passed out in the restaurant if I had taken as little as a sip of wine, but if I were to have this cheese plate again, I'd definitely order a glass of wine with it. The service was very good - the staff was very patient with my French and also spoke English fluently.

Bought some products to bring home: Champignon Mousse, dried mushrroms, truffes paste and diced black truffes (goes well with pasta or as appetizers on bread). It's been a while since and we've eaten their products a bunch of times now: Really good, high quality stuff. Very nice. We'll be back.

Lots of wonderful meat, cheeses and other specialties from the Alsace. We bought saucisse de fumé and de bière, Foie Gras and Duck Confit. All wonderful products. Left for home the next day. Enjoyed their specialities the next few days and weeks at home. Duck Confit is oh so tender and tasty. If you don't know duck confit, then you should definitely go for it. A really nice shop with helpful and friendly staff. We'll be back in Colmar soon and we'll be back in this shop for sure.

I went towards the end of the evening near closing time, so the cookies and pastries had already been picked over quite a bit. Luckily, I was here to get a gingerbread man, and I picked out the cutest one ever (see photos)! I've rarely met a gingerbread I didn't like, and this version was a-okay. It wasn't as spicy as I'd like, but it had a nice chewy crunch to the cookie that made the texture quite satisfying. Of course, as is my method, I nibbled off his arms and legs first. I'm not such a fan of the icing, and Gilg's version I found quite bland. It was sweet, but not tasty. My cookie was individually wrapped in plastic which made it easy to reseal to enjoy later. I was able to take a few more nibbles on my train to Paris the next afternoon. And did I mention how stinking cute the cookie was? The little wide eyes and "o" face...just adorable. I could see these making excellent gifts to take home from Europe, if you could keep the cookies from breaking during transit. The other goods on offer looked tasty, but if the gingerbread man is any indication, this may be one of those "all looks, bland taste" type of bakeries. I am so glad we did, because this place bakes a mean croissant and a tasty baguette (among other things). It was about a 15 minute leisurely stroll (with luggage) from our hotel in the heart of town to the bakery. When we arrived, there was a long line as well as large groups of people outside. This, as most foodie travelers have ingrained in their very being, is a terrific sign that THIS is a place you want to stop. And it is! The boulangerie has tons of awards and medals that they proudly display as bragging rights. They've won a multitude of "best of," and I can say they are all well deserved. Pastries are sort of the national food of France. Note that, this being France, the staff certainly didn't have the patience to deal with stupid American tourists. They were, as you'd expect, quite aloof if not downright rude. The workers refused to take larger bills once they saw that we had smaller ones, and they were trying to shortchange other patrons left and right. Luckily I was aware (and tried to speak some French, which went a LONG way), and they didn't pull any shenanigans with me. I purchased a baguette and a croissant to take on the train for a snack. As a bread lover and carb addict, I couldn't wait to dig into the baguette and started munching on it as soon as I stepped outside the store. It was absolutely perfect in texture, density, and salty, yeasty flavor. The croissant was even better. I had asked for a plain croissant, but they gave me one that was dusted with powered sugar and slivered almonds. It was sweet and yummy and while not an item I'd normally order, it was buttery, flaky, and delicate. This is a bakery that's worth a detour and your time, especially if you are seeking authentic, delicious French pastries. Highly recommended!

We are always happy when shopping in Leclerc. Not all are perfect, but they are all good at least…read more But this E.Leclerc here IS definitely a perfect place to shop. During our stay in Colmar we did our grocery shopping here and came on the day we left for home and filled our trunk with their products. It's a very good sized Leclerc with plenty of parking. Staff is helpful and friendly. Besides all the basice grocery items like veggies, fruit, rice, pasta, water, dairy products, soda, beer, wine, pet supplies and household products they got a good outdoor and electronics section. And then very nice meat, cheese, seafood and charcuterie counters. Great products! We especially enjoyed the meat here, they even got real KOBE beef! And the duck confit is divine. Couldn't get enough of that, great stuff! Lots of nice, local products. Also great to buy some good french Rosé and of course Crèmant from the Alsace. Really enjoyed shopping here. You get a lot of value here, great prices for great quality food. We'll be back again in a few days to bring some more food to get home. Luckily Colmar is only a 90min ride away - a short drive across the border.
