Hi we were visiting Lyon between the 5th to the 9th of June and came across Ric vintage records…read morestall on the Wednesday. We couldn't believe our luck we bought two albums Quincey Jones Sounds And Stuff Like That and Johnny Guitar Watson A Real Mother, both from the 70s in immaculate condition and play like new. I could've browsed and chatted for ages, Ric has a great selection of soul jazz and funk from the 70s plus all other style of music. Ric is a real interesting man who knows his stuff and I would recommend anyone into vinyl to check his stall out.

I had been listening to trance music since I came back to France in 1994. However, I had withdrawn from the scene for a couple of years, trying to do what I thought was expected...but go away from what you love and one day or the other it will come back straight to you in one form or the other... It was spring time and the techno sound was coming back to me slowly. This time I knew it would be for good. I had to let go of all what was said or told about the scene, the music and the people and find my real family again. The scene had changed however and the music was harder and faster specially at night. I was drawn naturally to chill out and ambiant music. I listen to Di.fm and tried to create this play list. What I did not realize at that time, was that all the pieces that I was drawn to where coming from producers of the Ultimae record label. The people who listened to the playlist really enjoyed it and told me it was real "good stuff". Finally a friend told me "listen to this record label Ultimae" and come to the party, there is one on a boat this friday...you might be in for a real surprise !!! He had listen to the playlist and knew !!! What did he knew? That all the pieces that where on the playlist where all coming from the producers of the Ultimae record label. The Dj that played on that party was Aes Dana... What an introduction!!! It was probably one of the best party!!! That evening all though it was ambiant music, the sound and the mix could not make me sit... I had to get up and dance... The music took me away... I realized after the party that I had followed the sound of Ultimae Record ever since...the boom...parties...this had been my sound for years!!!
