However I knew it would not be my only bouchon dinner after trying the typical dishes of eggs in red wine sauce and fish dumplings. I had never had these food before but I know how to cook so I knew something was off. The red wine sauce was thin and watery and the fish dumplings dense and pale. Their steak haché, and half their french fries, were not hot at all. (But the other half were very hot?) My appetizer didn't come out until my partner's entree. And neither were very good. We ended up leaving early and getting food elsewhere. Our waitress was doing the best she could given the restaurant was packed, there were only 2 servers handling all front-of-house duties, and the kitchen was so unreliable. They need more servers!! I'm trying to understand how this could happen given the good reviews. I bet the head chef recently quit and took people with him, and the management is just trying to keep the restaurant going. And it's a great location, they can still make money. But it won't last long like this...
